Those have almost nothing in common, but Wilder and the Coens are tied for my favorite director, I’ll keep you in South Korea and say Memories of Murder, the tone shift at the halfway point is as strong as the one in the Apartment, and the characters are clearly representations of ideas like Barton Fink.
