Tropical Storm Warning!

Attention residents of the resort:

A tropical storm has been spotted off the coast of Cuba and will make landfall in the next 48 hours. It is most likely that the storm will cause us to lose power. Furthermore, your rooms were not built to withstand such high wind and rain, and therefore we are instructing all residents to please make their way to the ballroom on the first floor for their own safety. 

Please only bring essential items such as a radio, flashlight and emergency gear as any items that are nonessential will be repossessed. We are sorry for the inconvenience but your safety is our first priority.

Hello members and welcome to your first plot drop! As most of you may know, tropical storms and hurricanes are very common in the Atlantic during August and what would make this rp more authentic than a tropical storm? During this plot drop all the characters will be in one room with no power during a raging storm. 

This event will take place on Thursday August 3rd at 10 pm and will be in the form of a chat. Please plan accordingly and feel free to plot ahead with any other members. All residents of the resort will be in the large ballroom on the first floor, as stated above, and there will be limited resources. Have fun you guys!

Wow, this week hella flew by, and we’re almost at round three of date cards! How exciting~ As usual, here’s the guide and the date card faq for newer members to refer to when giving out their cards and accepting/rejecting them. Remember, Saturday night 10pm EST!! We can’t wait to see you here!

                      —  FOR WHAT IS A COMPETITION, WITHOUT A WINNER ?

Wow, what an amazing month it’s been! Unfortunately, all good things must come to a close. This doesn’t mean that we didn’t have a good run, though! Closing will come soon, but before that, we have one last thing to decide: who wins?

Here’s how we’re doing it: from Friday night, 10pm EST onwards, all contestants must give out their final card to one person. By giving your card to this one person, you put into their hands your chance at winning $250,000, your chance at love, and maybe even the rest of your life.

Only those who receive a card from the person that they gave it to will win the game.

For the last time, good luck to all contestants! It has been an absolute honour to have hosted this amazing competition, and we hope to see you all with your final cards tonight.

FAQs:

I have no one to give my card to, what do I do?

I’d encourage you to then think about who might give you their card. If your character isn’t giving the card out for love, then they could at least give the card out to win!

I’m not free on Friday night, what do I do?

Closing will happen sometime on Sunday, so you’ve got more than enough time to hand that card out! You can also participate via mobile as it’ll be exactly like date cards.

Do we accept/reject the cards?

Not exactly, but you do have to post them on your blog. If you want, you can write a reply to the card(s) that you receive, though!

Must we give out our card?

Yes. It’s the final one, you’ve got nothing to lose!

Admin Note!

It’s that time of the week again! Date cards are happening in just 24 hours, so be sure to start wrapping up any dates and writing all the stuff you want to get in before Saturday 10pm EST, when all date threads must be dropped and date cards will be handed out! If you’re a little confused about date cards, you’ll find a guide about it here, and an faq here. Old members are also encouraged to read the guide because there have been some minor changes made and rules emphasised on should you need a reminder.

As always, questions and concerns can be sent here or to the admins’ character blogs. We hope to see you all here tomorrow night, as it’s really important for as many date cards to be given out as possible within the first 3 hours of date cards day! Love you guys xx

Due to different timezones for a majority of the users I feel like a dash event would be best? That way everyone can be a part of it and don't have to be upset about missing it? I don't like chat events. They give me anxiety and half the time because of work or life I can never make it to them anymore.

The admin team has taken a decent amount of time deciding between making this a dash event and a chat event. We decided that we wanted to have an event/plot drop and still continue on with date cards and the only way that would be able to happen is if we made the event a chat. Yes, a dash event lets the event last longer but it would also impede the date cards happening on Saturday and Sunday. As far as timezones go we only have 4 people who are not in either Pacific, Central or Eastern timezones and one of them has a hiatus until the 3rd. If you have reservations about participating in the event please come off anon and speak with us. We hope you understand our reasoning.
