Here to Stay: Inqluded Continues to Celebrate QTIBIPOC Voices/Work.
written by Raelee Fourkiller
inQluded is a unique space for young QTIBIPoC writers and artists to beautifully craft their stories and hone their identities as emerging voices for the people they come from. It is simultaneously a platform of cultivation and artistic freedom and a community of and for, people who speak of different lifeways and understandings. It is a home for young creatives to find and explore their artwork, without limitations, boundaries, or binaries. Beyond the digital space and magazine, inQluded offers free writing workshops and author panels.
Their first digital issue was released during pride month, you can read here. Focusing mainly on the concept of home, within spatial dimensions and even broader, reflecting upon people, relationships, and personal identities as home.
Their second issue was released yesterday, titled ‘Here to Stay’. You can buy it here.
The editorial team wanted to amplify the voices of the Q-mmunity through asking questions regarding how QTIBIPoC artists reclaim spaces in a contemporary physical, spatial, or creative world, in which they have historically been denied. Artists have been shouting claims to personhood, livelihood, and happiness from rooftops for years – @inqluded only aims to compile these stories.
Following the first two publications, inQluded will begin to produce larger, seasonal issues - Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer (pride!). Keep a lookout for issues regarding topics around joy, resilience, and hope.
