they really have gone through so much but at least they’ve both learnt so much from each other , and honestly , akane has really encouraged and influenced gino’s perspective after he finally let go of everything . he’s extremely thankful and grateful and cares about her immensely ! especially since .. everything and everyone in season 1 happened . they really would have some great conversations when they really get the time , and i’m all here for these great friends to bond !

                     by  the  time  he’s  finished  with  his  most  recent  assignments,  it’s  already  creeping  into  the  early  hours  of  morning.  when  he  switches  the  screen  of  his  computer  off  &  the  glow  is  replaced  with  darkness,  he  sees  his  reflection  staring  back  at  him  with  eyes  darkened  by  sleeplessness.  there’s  something  else  there  too  though,  something  he  hadn’t  noticed  before,  &  it  nearly  causes  him  to  jump  out  of  his  chair.  when  recognition  clicks,  however,  a  sense  of  calm  replaces  his  initial  alarm.  he  hadn’t  heard  akane  enter,  &  hadn’t  noticed  as  she’d  come  to  stand  behind  him,  expression  a  gentle  smile  directed  at  none  other  than  himself.  all  feelings  of  fatigue  seemingly  vanish  under  that  warm  gaze,  &  he  can’t  help  but  mirror  her  expression  with  a  shy  smile  of  his  own.  if  he  can  be  useful  to  her,  it  makes  everything  more  than  worth  it.  if  she  can  smile  at  him  like  that,  like  she’s  genuinely  proud  of  him,  it’s  all  the  motivation  he  needs.

“Alright, Candy, I take it the AI is complete?” The pink jellyfish chirped back with a positive response, spinning around in anticipation before generating the AI. Akane tilted her head to the side, blinking once as she focused her gaze on the appearance of, what was projected to be, her future self. “I don’t look much different, huh? I guess consistency had always been one of my strong traits.” Akane cleared her throat, anxious about asking advice but deciding to get formalities out of the way first. “Hello, Tsunemori-san, do you think you could help me...?”

A bit cheesy, but honestly, she didn’t want to bother others with her problems too much. Thus, why not ask herself?

this was not a time or the place to hallucinate with kagari, but hell it seemed real. maybe the habit was getting out of hand. " if you are here to tell me to take a break, I hardly see a place to take a break in this isolated section of the district. " tried to brush off kagari without realizing it might be the real thing.

             a telltale shit-eating grin spreads from beneath the hood of his plain windbreaker.     ‘   perfect place to take a break in my opinion.  heh.  ’      she’s different,   he can tell    – something in her eyes that was never there before.  it makes kagari’s chest ache.  and yeah, he knows better   –   knows his situation:   the escape, the manhunt, the missing persons case, all of it.  knows kogami.   the hierarchy of all circumstances that surround him and akane in this very instance,   rooted in the expanse of the abandoned district they now both stand in,   feet apart and facing one another like time had shifted all the way back to …     well, the beginning.   but he’s stepping forward and tugging the hood off his head anyway,  knows damn well she could turn a dominator on him and it’d all be over   -------   maybe that’s exactly why he’s been avoiding akane’s gaze, but he’s still motioning toward her with a nonchalant shrug.      ‘   s’been, what, a year and a half and not even a hi?  i’m wounded, akane.   ’
