“...How?” ((have a confused clare. xD))
"I’m honestly just as mystified as you are.” The tree was tall, and the branches were pretty sporadic, meaning that the dwarf had sometimes had to strain to get up into her current whereabouts. She looked down, sheepishly.
“I just remember feeling a whole lot of panic, and then the adrenaline wore off and I’m too weary to get down.”

@inquixitorclarex
Like many he had been skeptical when he’d first heard rumor that the Herald of Andraste possessed Dalish blood. In the grand scheme of things however he had been quicker to understand that her origin did not hold a flame to the fact that she possessed the skill to close entire skies. Whether or not the Chantry denounced her as a heretic her mettle had been proven. In his eyes she had done more than enough. Besides if rumor were to be believed she would be more accepting of his charges than even his brother in arms. Rithisak knew there was a rallying cry sweeping across the land demanding the presence of all templars but he was ignoring it. Their war might be his in name, but his duty laid itself at the feet of these mages that knew nothing of the world. He unlike many of his brethren hadn’t forgotten that.
Rithisak knew if he brought these people the templars would slaughter even the youngest of the children. For months he and the others had fled on foot but the land ravaged by war was dying around them and he did not know for how much longer he could maintain their band alone. Sooner or later there would be nowhere left to settle their bones and a conflict with either the rebel mages or the warring templars would be inevitable. The Inquisition was perhaps the first tangible solution to come in months however he would not lead his charges blindly into it. Late at night he’d exchanged words with the older of the mages and it had been agreed that at the least they ought to travel towards the Inquisition encampment to see it with their own eyes before making any rash decisions about volunteering.
As luck would have it he heard it whispered that the Inquisitor had taken to the Emerald Graves not but two months into their travels. The chances that it might be true had been too high to continue their trek forward without knowing. When their company had reached the forest he’d camped them somewhere relatively hidden and set out on foot alone. The sounds of a battle had caught his attention and as he neared the blood in his veins hummed at the presence of demons. When he’d crested the hill and saw a small party below fending the demons off Rithisak hadn’t hesitated. Arming himself with sword and shield he’d charged into the foray. It’d almost made him laugh catching the looks of surprise at his unexpected presence, but a Terror Demon nearly lobbing his head clean off his shoulders had been more than plentiful distraction.
If he had possessed any doubts on the identity of the small party before they vanished when he a shock of green light burst forth from her palm. It touched the rift and he felt a humming that shook even his bones. He wrenched his sword from the lesser demon as the sky closed with a borderline violent impact. All the rumors in the world couldn’t have prepared him for watching it happen with his own two eyes. Miracle did not do the things he had witnessed justice. “I suppose this means you’re the Inquisitor.” It wasn’t a question he posed as he approached her with slightly accelerated breathing. He’d been made for war. “Rithisak Aydelotte. Templar. I’d heard rumor you were in the area.” He could feel the eyes of her companions on him. Their body language was alert, but no one at least was attacking him.

Your muse has found my muse’s diary!
Dear Diary,
I found something today. Something that I’m pretty sure I wasn’t supposed to find.
I was going through Cullen’s things in his office when he wasn’t around - I was bored - and I found a box where he keeps all of the letters we ever sent them. There weren’t so many from nowadays, but I also found the old letters I used to send him.
Really old stuff. Some of them were written in crayon, and horribly misspelled. I didn’t really know him back then - after all, he left when I was three - but I remember people talking about him. And I remember feeling about him as if I had met him and I just thought he was the best person alive.
Really, I idolized him. I eventually grew out of it - even if not completely, if I’m being totally honest - and I just kept thinking of those times... It was everything much simpler. And I had a lot more people in my life than I do today.
I wish things were simpler again.

my opinion on;
character in general:
Most of what I know about Clare comes second-hand and through the ongoing thread between her and Rithisak. Because of this my opinion of Clare is neutral but I hope to see this change the more in-depth the interactions between her and Rithisak become. From what little I do know of her I have to say the trait that stands out most is her depression. That is not to say that it is the most dominant trait of her character, but in the sense that to a stranger it isn’t there at all. She is someone that masks it with a cheerful disposition – someone that doesn’t wear her entire heart but rather pieces of it on her sleeve.
how they play them:
When writing original characters there isn’t a standard their writing can be compared to in the sense that there is with canon characters. Both have their difficulties. For the former it’s building a character that has depth from the ground up and stepping in with the writing necessary for that. It is because of this that though I may not have an opinion of Clare herself I enjoy her character from the standpoint of a writer. Ven has a firm grasp on what it is that makes Clare her own. She falls into certain cliches and archetypes, but has written these in a way that they help strengthen her writing in a way that help builds character depth rather than damaging it.
the mun:
Unfortunately Ven and I haven’t spoken very much outside of initial starter questions, but from her out of character posts and her tag interactions she seems to be a very sweet, very sociable girl. I sometimes have trouble being the first one to contact another person, but during our entire conversation she was polite and open-minded. It got us through the questions I had quickly and left me with more than a few ideas on where our thread could be taken and how. As with Clare I can’t say that I have a solidified opinion that goes either way, but I am certainly leaning towards a positive one about both Ven and her writing.
do i;
follow them:
Yes.
rp with them:
Yes.
ship their character with mine:
No, but I do think there is potential for an interesting dynamic between Clare and Rithisak. Our thread hasn’t moved past their first interaction, but following the plot developments of iZombie I could see their relationship going the ways of something that shifts back and forth between suspicious strangers and uncertain allies of circumstance. His mixed sentiments towards Clare aren’t entirely about her specifically either. Some of it has to do with the guilt he feels when seeing her reminds him of his falling outs with Blaine, but he is cautious for logical reasons too. Associations with Blaine rarely end well and he has trouble believing their interaction is entirely innocent. He can’t trust her, but he does need her.
what is my;
overall opinion:
I would recommend Ven and Clare to new writers. Her writing style is more to the point, but offers enough to interact with. It is good practice for learning how to maintain and push events forward without rushing it in order to keep both partners engaged. Though I might not feel strongly towards her and Clare I do enjoy having her as a part of my dash. She is active without flooding her followers and offers a nice balance between IC-posts and OOC ones. Not to mention that she runs a Kingdom Hearts OC as well and has a number of verses. Even if one plot fizzles out it’s easy to start another one in a different verse.
