— ❝ Don’t be stubborn. Try it ! ❞
“Fine, fine! I’ll try them out. I ain’t too big on trying homemade things that weren’t made by mom, but I’ll make an exception.” He huffed, and looked at the cookie tray presented to him. It has been atleast 5 minutes since they started bickering once she asked Kanji to try them out, and despite his arrogance, he couldn’t really shake her off. Ai was pretty persistent, and made it clear that she will not let her work go to waste even if it meant waiting there until the day ended. He had no business staying in place for that long, so he finally complied. He wasn’t even hungry, but he supposed that he’d have to deal with it.
He gave the tray one last suspicious look, and grabbed one of the cookies. A pretty simple, chocolate-chip cookie which seems to have made with certain diligence. Kanji wasn’t any food critic, but from what it seemed like it was atleast edible, if not well made. He chipped off a bite, to see if it passes the taste test, or if it’s not poison.
And it was... really good. The texture was good, so was the general taste, and it wasn’t even poison. That made him regret dragging her around for so long by refusing to even taste it. Now it was just time to compliment the chef.
“It ain’t mom’s cooking, but... It’s really good. Thanks, senpai.”
