Scent thing....burning leaves, soil, and freshly brewed tea (each separate if you can o.o)
She took a deep breath as the wind rustled the dry, crackling trees on her and Soul’s walk home, she could smell the scent of someone burning the dry leaves nearby as people often did this time of year. It reminded her of camping and cook outs. She smiled and looked over to her partner. “Let’s grill something for dinner tonight.” She suggested. “It’s so nice outside I bet burger’s would taste great out on the patio.” She grinned at his slight trail of drool, knowing that she had him at the word “grill”.
It had finally stopped raining and she stepped out into the sunlight filtering through the few left-over clouds from the all-night storm. Her bare feet hit the damp grass and she inhaled deeply. Wiggling her toes in the soft wet dirt, she remembered helping her Mama plant things in the garden when she was very small. It always smelled just like this, deep and rich and earthy. With that, she resolved to make a garden of her very own.
The tea steeped in the quiet apartment and Maka sighed.she loved tea but it also held some bitter memories for her. Her Mama pouring her a cup of tea after a fight with her Papa, Professor Stein bringing her a cup of tea while she waited for Soul to wake up from surgery, the last cup of tea she shared with Lord Death before Kid gained full power and became the next reaper;the aroma of the freshly brewed leaves was indeed bittersweet. It was both comforting and heavy,. She brought the cup to her lips and breathed it in, even through all those moments, the tea was comforting and calming, it was the anchor that held her steady through the storms and that’s why she loved it.
