craziest thing about the Pazuzu Causes Drama scene is that so much of what she said was true but with more damning phrases sprinkled. Yeah she was lying about chris being a terrible mother, and sharon's erotic dreams of father karras of course. But with karl and willie's daughter, merrin's disgust and karras' loss of faith, she was telling the truth.

I would think at least the part about father merrin wanting to stay away from people because he thought they were worse than him was a lie. He's introduced as a rock and pillar of faith, but no... it's revealed later that he was sick of everything, sick of people, and wanted to run away from everyone he couldn't accept, and so the demon's taunts were very "holier than thou" flavored.
