Hey,

I'm presuming my 7 question sorting got lost somehow, if not then I put something along the lines of: I identify as a Hufflepuff but I received Slytherin... If I could remember the questions I was asked then I would definitely give them to you here again, but unfortunately, I seem to have a terrible memory and confuse them with the other time I took the quiz (and also got Slytherin...) So I was hoping you could do a 27-questions sorting to help me out, thanks!

The smooth, thick, richly purple drink that gives off a delicious smell of chocolate and plums. - Puff  Once every century, the Flutterby bush produces flowers that adapt their scent to attract the unwary. If it lured you, it would smell of: A crackling log fire - Gryff

Question 3:

 A troll has gone berserk in the Headmaster’s study at Hogwarts. It is about to smash, crush and tear several irreplaceable items and treasures, including a cure for dragon pox, which the Headmaster has nearly perfected; student records going back 1000 years and a mysterious handwritten book full of strange runes, believed to have belonged to Merlin. In which order would you rescue these objects from the troll’s club, if you could?  Select order: Merlin’s Book/Dragon Pox Cure/Student Records

Ravenclaw primary, Slytherin secondary. This is supposed to be the #1 answer Ravenclaws pick; Slytherins put cure-last. (This at least avoids the common bias of the question, which is cure/book/records.)   Which would you rather be: Liked - Puff

This is not a good question. Trusted/praised/liked is too popular and tilts this entire question to Gryffindor (66%+ of all people pick a Gryff answer) and Puff (50%+ of people pick Puff answers), and Ravenclaw lacks a viable answer - they're least-likely to pick either of the answers JKR gave them points for, and less than 10% of Claws will actually choose a Claw answer! The worst question on this quiz.   Which of the following do you find most difficult to deal with? Loneliness - Puff primary, Gryff secondary, and the best of the Q3s. 

So Ravenslyth, Puff, and Huffledor

 What are you most looking forward to learning at Hogwarts?  Apparition and Disapparition (being able to materialise and dematerialise at will)
 - Slyth primary/Gryff secondary  If you could have any power, which would you choose? The power to read minds - Claw primary, Slyth secondary  Which of the following would you most like to study? Centaurs - Claw primary, Gryff secondary (but the worst Q4; Gryff gets top 3 creatures and in practice this should probably be Gryffinclaw and ghosts Ravendor and not the other way around.) 

So Slytherdor, Ravenslyth, and Ravendor.

Question 5:

One of your house mates has cheated in a Hogwarts exam by using a Self-Spelling Quill. Now he has come top of the class in Charms, beating you into second place. Professor Flitwick is suspicious of what happened. He draws you to one side after his lesson and asks you whether or not your classmate used a forbidden quill. What do you do? Lie and say you don’t know (but hope that somebody else tells Professor Flitwick the truth). - Puff, but this is an interesting problematic question: in practice, tell before the test is the Puff #1 answer and lying is Slytherin's #1! (And then "confront classmate" takes around 30% of everybody's answers anyway, slanting this Gryff overall.)  You and two friends need to cross a bridge guarded by a river troll who insists on fighting one of you before he will let all of you pass. Do you: Suggest that all three of you should fight (without telling the troll)? - Slytherin, and the only question where the Slyth answer usually has a fair chance  Which road tempts you most?

The twisting, leaf-strewn path through woods - Gryff. Fairest question overall, but this is biased to Gryff (all Q5s have a bias to one of the four answers.)  Which nightmare would frighten you most?

An eye at the keyhole of the dark, windowless room in which you are locked - Gryff, and this is another question screwed up beyond recognition! A majority of Claws pick this answer while a majority of Slyths pick the Claw answer (and the Claw nightmare of heights is #3 in Ravenclaw.) 

Late at night, walking alone down the street, you hear a peculiar cry that you believe to have a magical source. Do you:

Proceed with caution, keeping one hand on your concealed wand and an eye out for any disturbance? - Puff (and the most popular answer)  A Muggle confronts you and says that they are sure you are a witch or wizard. Do you:

Ask what makes them think so? - Claw (and the most popular answer, but this is still the 2nd-fairest Q5, since Claw-as-most-popular is driven by 90% of Ravenclaws picking this and not by other Houses going for it)

2 Puff, 2 Gryff, 1 Slyth, 1 Claw Question 6:

 Dawn or dusk? Dusk - Huffleslyth  Moon or stars? Stars - Huffledor (but 80% of Claws pick stars vs. not quite 50% of Gryffs)  Forest or river?

Forest - Gryffinclaw

So mostly Gryff/Puff but some Claw/Slyth

Question 7:

 Black or white?

Black - Slytherdor  Heads or tails?

Heads - Ravenpuff  Left or right? Right - Gryffinpuff

So mostly Gryff/Puff but some Slyth/Claw

Overall

Q1 - Puff majority (some Claw)

Q2 - Slyth majority (some Gryff/Puff)

Q3 - Ravenslyth, Puff, and Huffledor

Q4 - Ravendor, Slytherdor, and Ravenslyth

Q5 - Mostly Puff/Gryff but some Slyth/Claw

Q6 - Mostly Puff/Gryff but some Slyth/Claw

Q7 - Mostly Puff/Gryff but some Slyth/Claw

Overall, I'd definitely say you belong in Hufflepuff over Slytherin; I'd even probably say that Gryffindor is a better fit than Slytherin, although it might be slightly less likely because you're more likely to draw a Slyth Q2.

A fairest question Sorting gives: selfish, plums and chocolate, loneliness, Apparition, forest path, forest, right, which is probably actually Gryffindor (but does have that heavy reliance on forests that's not ideal.) 

A 2nd-fairest-question-Sorting gives: The Good, log fire, BCR, read minds, ask why, dusk, heads. That's actually going to go Ravenclaw!

So...wow. You have the most Hufflepuff overall, but part of the issue here is that your Q4 is never Hufflepuff, and Q4 is worth quite a lot. (Also, "liked" is part of an unfair question; you can't draw more than 1 Q1, 6, or 7, where you're showing a lot of Puff; "proceed with caution" isn't in a fairest-question Sort because most people choose it - the Slytherin option on that one is actually the least-popular 4-question answer on the entire quiz; and "stars" is pretty broken. But I don't think Gryffindor beats Puff in any case, especially since the Gryff answers you do give tend to be messed up.)

As you can see, any Sorting is possible for you, and your results are going to vary wildly. I'm guessing for the Slytherin sortings that you pulled a Slyth Q2, cure ordering, and probably the Apparition question - those three make Slytherin much more likely, and if you got dusk (a Huffleslyth answer), it would virtually guarantee it, even before you drew black. But Slytherin's nowhere near the best House for you, and I have to attribute 2 Slyth Sortings to a really bad question draw on your part.

** No problem! Glad you find it interesting - I'm just sorry Tumblr ate your Slytherin Sortings, I would have liked to have seen them. (There's also the possibility you were heavily split between Slyth and Puff and then drew something like forest, which gives points to neither of them, thus throwing you to Slyth because Q3/4 are more heavily weighted. But you're not really Slyth.) :(

So I'm posting a Sorting post before the Sad Gryff post: those are new to the blog, but people have been dropping fictional characters into my ask and I've been Sorting them. First up: the Firefly crew.)
