“Professor Blackshire… you wanted to see me?” Selene teasingly smiles from the doorway as she looks at her husband in his study, ready to play with him.

Will was so into his tasks of emailing and setting up meetings that he heard someone stop at the office door but didn’t think anything of it until he heard her voice. He turns to her, confused before seeing her teasing smile from the doorway and that look in her eye. He pauses for a moment, taking in the tone and everything before grinning. “Ah yes, I almost forgot,” he answered, turning to her in his chair. “I wanted to discuss your grades.”

❈ — “Puppy...” Selina rolled her eyes when Emerson came over and took the boxes from her hands. Ever since she’d told him she was pregnant a month and a half ago, he’d been nothing but overprotective over her and their baby. It was sweet, in theory. On the flip side, it was a bit overboard.

She had been trying to get things in order in the one spare room so they could eventually set it up as the nursery when he came in and started ordering her to rest. Shaking her head, Selina placed her hands on her hips. “I’m not a weakling, you know. I’m not even at a point where I can’t lift heavy things yet. Those boxes weren’t even heavy to begin with!”

Stuttering Like a Fool

To Angerona, Lilith was exquisite as the sun. She had thought so the moment they had met each other in the fourth grade. She had just been struck by how pretty the other girl was. How she did everything so perfectly. And anytime she talked to Angie, she was kind, even when she could only stutter and blush in response.

She never made Angerona feel foolish.

And to this day, even in their senior year, Angerona was still a stuttering, blushing mess around Lilith. Watching from afar, since she couldn't seem to string two sentences together to save her life.

Angie looked down at the small wrapped gift in her hands. She was trembled, feeling as if her legs were about to go to Jello. She had made Lilith a bracelet for Christmas. And had already planned up a grand way to finally confess her feelings.

She made her way through the crowd, approaching Lilith. Suddenly her tongue felt like lead in her mouth and her palms began to sweat.

"H-hey Lilith." Angerona managed to say, trying her hardest to keep the trembling from her voice.

“Depends on who you are that’s askin. You a cop?” He asked, although he’d seen enough women like her to know that probably wasn’t the case. Of course beating up the kid of the man who ran this town meant eventually fucking everyone would hear about that shit.

Nuzzling into his neck, she smiled against his skin. “I’m sorry, my love. If I didn’t think your safety would be in jeopardy, I would have allowed you to come with me to Gotham. But Bruce needed my help with something specific that we were able to take care of.” Pulling away just enough, brown orbs gazed up at the Alpha warmly as a hand reached to run through his dark locks. “I’m back now, though...”
