❝even if we're weak and can't cut off demon heads, if we defeat one demon, we can save dozens of people. and if we can defeat an upper rank kizuki, we can save hundreds. it isn't about whether we can or cannot do. there are things we have to do.❞
Their big strong s/o casually picking them and just carrying them around if they are a feather. For the Hashira and Kamaboko Squad (+ Kanao and Genya) they are criminally underrated
before he could finish, your arms wrapped around him, lifting him clear off the ground like it was nothing.
his eyes went wide for a second before bursting into laughter, his booming voice echoing through the courtyard. “hahaha! magnificent!”
“you’re not even surprised?” you asked, smiling.
“surprised? i am delighted! not many can lift me so easily!” he grinned, throwing an arm dramatically around your shoulder as if posing mid-air. “you are incredible!”
“you’re ridiculous,” you said, laughing as you adjusted him.
“perhaps,” he said with that bright spark in his eyes, “but i am in the arms of someone strong and beautiful—how could i not be thrilled?”
“you’re lucky you’re charming,” you teased.
he grinned wider. “and you are lucky i enjoy being carried! onward!”

tengen uzui
tengen had just finished calling himself the most flamboyant man alive when you interrupted his speech by picking him up without warning.
“woah, woah, woah—what is this unflashy behavior?!” he said, eyes wide but amused.
“flashy enough to lift you, huh?” you smirked.
he blinked, a grin spreading across his face. “well, i am rather heavy with all this muscle—yet you handle it with flair! impressive.”
“so, not mad?”
“mad? no. intrigued.”
he leaned back slightly, flashing a grin. “you make me feel small, and that’s quite the rare experience.”
you laughed, walking forward with him still in your arms.
“ah, yes,” he said dramatically, “carry me to the sunset, my strong and dazzling partner!”
“you’re enjoying this too much.”
“of course i am,” he grinned. “who wouldn’t want to be swept off their feet, literally?”

mitsuri kanroji
you scooped mitsuri up with ease, and the first thing out of her mouth was a delighted squeal.
“you’re so strong!!” she gasped, immediately wrapping her arms around your neck. “oh my gosh, you lifted me like nothing!”
you smiled, holding her steady. “you’re light.”
“no way, i’m heavy! i eat so much!”
“yeah, and it all goes to being cute,” you teased.
her cheeks turned pink instantly. “you can’t say things like that while holding me!”
“why not? it’s true.”
she giggled, burying her face into your shoulder. “you’re gonna make me fall for you all over again…”
“then i’ll just have to keep carrying you,” you said softly.
“promise?” she asked, smiling up at you.
“promise.”

obanai iguro
obanai stiffened immediately when your arms wrapped around him.
“wait—what are you—”
before he could finish, you lifted him effortlessly off the ground.
his snake hissed in mild alarm, but obanai just froze, staring at you.
“put me down,” he said flatly, though his voice didn’t sound entirely serious.
“you’re light,” you said simply.
he sighed through his nose. “that’s not the point.”
“then what’s the point?” you asked, grinning.
he glanced away, muttering, “it’s… strange being carried like this.”
“you don’t like it?”
“i didn’t say that,” he said quickly.
you smirked. “so you do like it.”
“stop twisting my words,” he said, cheeks faintly red beneath his bandages. “just… don’t drop me.”
“never.”
and even though he scowled, the way his hand quietly rested on your shoulder gave him away.

you lifted shinobu before she could even react.
“oh?” she said lightly, blinking up at you with that teasing smile. “this is new.”
“you don’t mind?”
“mind?” she tilted her head, amused. “i think it’s adorable. you look so serious, too.”
“because you’re squirming,” you said, trying not to laugh.
“well, if someone suddenly picked you up, you’d squirm too,” she said, laughing softly. “but i must admit… this is kind of nice.”
“see? you’re not complaining anymore.”
“i could get used to this,” she said, leaning in slightly. “but next time, maybe warn me before you sweep me off my feet.”
you grinned. “no promises.”

you picked muichiro up without much thought, and he just blinked.
“hm.”
“that’s all you’re gonna say?” you asked, amused.
“you’re strong,” he said simply. “this is… kind of comfortable.”
“comfortable?”
he nodded slightly, relaxing in your arms like it was perfectly normal.
“most people freak out when they’re lifted,” you said.
“most people aren’t me,” he replied calmly.
“true.”
he tilted his head slightly, eyes half-lidded. “you’re warm. don’t put me down yet.”
“lazy,” you teased.
“efficient,” he countered, a small smile tugging at his lips.

gyomei himejima
lifting gyomei was a challenge and you didn’t expect him to allow it. but when your arms wrapped around him and you managed to pick him up (barely), his eyes went wide in shock.
“what—y/n—this is—!”
“heavy?” you teased, holding steady. “yeah, kinda.”
“you could hurt yourself!”
“you think i’d try this if i couldn’t handle it?”
he paused, torn between worry and amazement. “i… didn’t think anyone could lift me.”
you smiled. “guess there’s a first time for everything.”
he laughed softly, touched and a little flustered. “you are truly remarkable.”
“thank you,” you said with a grin. “but you’re definitely going back down now before my arms give out.”
“fair,” he said, smiling warmly.

tanjiro yelped the moment his feet left the ground.
“w-wait! what are you doing?!”
“carrying you,” you said casually.
he looked mortified. “you don’t have to carry me!”
“you were limping,” you pointed out.
“i—okay, fine,” he admitted, sheepish. “but you’re really strong, huh?”
“guess so.”
he smiled, his face pink. “you’re amazing. thank you.”
“anytime,” you said.
and when he shyly leaned his head against your shoulder, you couldn’t help smiling too.

“you’re fine,” you said, holding him easily.
“PUT ME DOWN!”
“why? you’re light.”
he froze mid-panic. “light? …really?”
“yeah.”
he blinked, then suddenly got way too comfortable, wrapping his arms around your neck. “well… if you insist, i guess i don’t mind.”
“that’s what i thought,” you said with a smirk.
“can we do this more often?” he asked dreamily.
“don’t push it.”

you grinned. “still think you’re stronger?”
he froze. “...maybe.”
“thought so.”
he squirmed a little, then relaxed, muttering, “okay, this isn’t bad.”
“you’re enjoying this.”
“shut up!” he yelled, cheeks pink. “don’t ruin it!”
you laughed, carrying him around until he started bragging about it anyway.

she nodded quickly, a happy hum coming from her throat.
“good,” you said, walking with her still in your arms. “you’re easy to carry.”
she tapped your chest lightly, smiling.

she looked flustered, gaze darting everywhere but your face. “i… i didn’t expect that.”
“too sudden?”
“no,” she said quickly, shaking her head. “just… surprising.”
you smiled. “you’re lighter than you look.”
her face turned red. “don’t say that!”
“why not? it’s a compliment.”
“still…” she mumbled, hiding her face in her hands.
you laughed quietly, adjusting your grip. “guess i’ll take that as a yes to carry you again.”
she peeked through her fingers, smiling shyly. “maybe.”

“what do you mean i’m fine?! you can’t just—”
“you’re light,” you cut in calmly.
he froze. “light?”
you nodded. “like a sack of rice.”
his jaw dropped. “did you just compare me to rice?”
“a sturdy sack of rice,” you corrected.
he groaned, running a hand down his face. “you’re lucky i like you.”
girlfriend!shinobu who even with anger consuming her heart, still manages to leave enough love for you to feel like the luckiest person in the world.
girlfriend!shinobu who actually smiles around you. not the fake one everyone else saw but the real one where she blushes happily, her eyes crinkling at the corners.
girlfriend!shinobu who definitely loves watching you care for the butterfly girls. the way you’re so gentle and patient with them, showing them how to make medicines, like she did with you long ago.
girlfriend!shinobu who used to ask Kanae for advice on how to talk to you, what to say. and then once the older girl passed, she asked the master to put you both on a mission together and of course, he allowed it, wanting his children to be happy.
girlfriend!shinobu who planned on marrying you one day, hopefully after she got her revenge and could retire.
girlfriend!shinobu who..did not get to marry you. she did not get to retire. because she’s dead. you saw her die, don’t you remember?
hi I love your posts, they are pretty cool! I also like how you characterize people, they feel accurate.
I was wondering how you feel about some people saying Kagaya and Amane were using and manipulating the demon slayers, like taking advantage of Muichiro for example. Do you think that's true or not?
NO. AND I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL. And i want to state from the beginning that i am convinced that any of the Hashira would rather commit seppuku before watching the Master struggle with a sword in his hand.
KNY - WERE KAGAYA AND AMANE USING THE DEMON SLAYERS ? - my thoughts
1. the Ubuyashiki family s sole reason for living is defeating Muzan. As we know, Kagaya is Muzan s distant relative as Muzan was related to the Ubuyashiki family when he was still human. He says so himself right before he dies - this is why the Ubuyashiki family is cursed and will be until Muzan is defeated. They have assembled the demon slayer Corps themselves as they took the repsonsibility to eradicate the demons and to fight Muzan, who has come from their bloodline, and the Corps has existed for over 1000 years solely because of the Ubuyasikis, and they have funded, organized and lead the entire corps for generations. So, they are not taking advantage of the slayers, they are leading them and funding them and organizing all the missions that the Corps is working around. This has been their purpose for 1000 years, gathering and training the slayers to protect humanity from the monster their own bloodline has produced.
2. It is well known Kagaya and Amane s only goal was to get to Muzan and defeat him by all means necessary, and bring down as many demons as they can until that point. I don t think they took advantage of Muichiro by finding him and his brother and telling them who they actually are and what they inherit; i think their intention was solely focused on the bigger purpose - and acquiring a Hashira of this heritage and talent and bringing Yoriichi s blood back in the Corps was a very important step. They also probably thought it s fair that the children know about their own bloodline and skills, giving them a chance at greatness. I think this is available for all children that were recruited and permitted to fight in the corps - there was a war going on and they needed soldiers for it anyways. The situation was demons vs humanity, not strictly demons vs Kagaya, so the battle was not only about him. Kagaya was a vessel for humanity - a sacrifice - because his only purpose was to lead and fight a battle for the sake of humanity, not only for the sake of himself. And Kagaya and Amane have cared for and protected their children (the slayers and the Hashira, as they call them) the way they could. I think they were sorry for what they had to do. Kagaya even memorized all the names and graves of the fallen slayers, visited them all at the Butterfly Mansion when he could still walk and has begged Gyomei on his dying breath to protect the others (,,don t let any of my beloved children die,,)
3. Kagaya and Amane have made the final and most important sacrifice in order to get Muzan and to set the Pillars in motion - they did use themselves as bait and died for it along with two of their children. ,,Using,, the slayers would mean watching them get killed from afar, while Kagaya and Amane sacrificed themselves and began the final fight this way. I think te Ubuyashiki family has always been the center of the fight, for 1000 years, which is why Muzan wanted to find them and why they were so well hidden. Everyone knew that if they fall and are eliminated from the fight, all humans go down with them.
4. They suffered as much as the slayers did because, while not bleeding in battle, they were cursed to have every male heir die before 30, while being sick their entire life and leading the Organization since frail ages like 12 or 13. The family survived like this for more than 1000 years with the sole purpose of leading the Demon Slayer Corps.
5. The Ubuyashiki family is a noble family, probably close to royalty, which gave them the wealth and influence to be able to create and keep the Corps fighting for so long, even when it almost got eradicated during history. I think it s expected that they don t fight or wield a sword in battle , especially in gruesome fights such as those against demons.
6. and maybe the most important argument - Sanemi, being the angry creature that he is, has lashed out at Kagaya the first time he met him after he became a Hashira, insulting him and asking if he s comfortable watching the slayers bleed and die while he only directs them and commands them from afar, to which Kagaya smiled and replied gently that he understands, and that has tried to hold a sword but his sickness won t let him fight. Then, he himself apologized for not giving Sanemi time to grieve and gave him his respects for Masachika by name which made Sanemi cry and give him his loyalty forever.
As i said, i will never consider them as anything less than heroes and Kagaya is the definition of a proper leader as it is well known that any slayer at any point would ve given their own life for him if need be. And i ll never forget how Muichiro remembered Kagaya as his father and how Kagaya and Amane both sat next to Muichiro until he recovered 😭😭😭
This was my take on this, i really appreciate this ask and hope to get more like this one because i love analyzing and putting everything into perspective so thank you !!!
