I ask people I'm close to - or sometimes any random person, 'am I too old for my face piercings? new tattoos? and...whatever else.' I'm always met with something along the lines of, 'really? if anyone can rock it you can, or you are always the one encouraging others that there is no 'right' weight, age or style.' But, the 'proper' has been so ingrained into me that even though it is my instinct to go against whatever 'proper' but I still hear the judgemental whispers, 'that is too old for her - she looks ridiculous'. So just as it has taken me time to accept my body - it is taking me time to accept my age... there are no rules for age...
