The longer the time had passed, the longer he waited and watched the clouds for any signs she'd come flying in, the more he wanted to venture out himself and find her. He never did. The sky dwellers weren't his biggest fans, even if it was mutual, but now he didn't have to worry if something befell Zelda.
Vaati's grip tightened- relieved and maybe possessively so. His initial words were cut off with a stifled laugh and somehow she always did that. How she could do no wrong, yet made him feel something strange in a single breath.
But keeping his face hidden, the ache failed to leave his cracked voice.
