Students at Khuzestan's Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz chanted in a video that was posted online and confirmed by AFP, "A student may die, but will not accept humiliation." Young women and schoolgirls have led the protests since Amini's death last month, which came after her arrest for allegedly breaking the Islamic Republic's strict dress code for women. Three days after being detained on September 13 while touring Tehran with her younger brother by the infamous morality police, the 22-year-old Iranian woman of Kurdish descent passed away. On Wednesday in the Kurdistan region, security officials allegedly issued a warning to Amini's family stating that if they held a memorial service or asked people to pay their respects at her grave, "they should fear for their son's life."
