Basically this show Anakin's first time seeing the Snail Jedi deity that lives outside the temple, the first time he see Obi-Wan's parasitic snail, and Anakin's first time seeing his true form.
-Anakin gained the ability to see these things after an encounter with the Slug Sith god, who grabbed Anakin and tried to bring him back into the darkness with it, but Anakin was able to get away, even though he couldn't even see the damned thing.
-Obi-Wan's snail is showing it's real eyes to Anakin as a threat display. Now that it knows Anakin can see it, it is unsure if Anakin will tolerate it's presence, or eat try and eat it.
-Anakin doesn't immediately change after he sees his true form but he begins to feel off, like his skin is on too tight, or like he's being wrapped up in a cage of coiled flesh. He tries to ignore it, buts as time goes on the feeling gets to be unbearable, and Anakin gives in, ripping free of his form.
Fic inspired by @polarspaz AU and this piece in particular, regarding Anakin’s new biological functions and Obi-Wan’s PoV of the events.
___________
Months went by and Anakin’s “episodes” didn’t seem to get better. ‘Actually’ Obi-Wan thought, ‘They are getting worst’.
The first time he saw the ‘dead slugs’ was still fresh in Obi-Wan’s mind.
-
“Round the troops, Commander! Dispatch the medical teams to help the wounded!” Obi-Wan shouted at Cody. As he made his way towards the transport, he heard a transmission picked up by one of the medics. The caller, he recognized, was Rex and he sounded scared.
“We need immediate... General Skywalker... there’s... there’s something wrong with him. I repeat. Send medical support! Over!”
Obi-Wan froze ‘something wrong’, a chill went down his spine. He was well aware of Anakin’s new form, well... new forms, but he also knew that only he could see his true face. Though that didn’t stop the unrest forming in his mind.
He reached out to Anakin through their shared bond to reassure himself that the other was alright, but he was met with a wave of fear, pain and desperation. Without hesitation he started running towards Anakin’s chaotic signature, fearing for the worst.
The first thing he saw were Rex and a couple of other 501st troopers standing in a semi-circle around a hunched figure on the ground. ‘Anakin!’
When he finally arrived there he saw what had spooked the clones so much. It wasn’t Anakin’s new form, but what seemed to be small slugs, or pieces of.
“What happened?”, the Jedi asked.
Hearing his voice, the clones turned towards him, Anakin instead turned away, holding his stomach. His signature getting weaker, as the young man closed their bond. Or tried, at least.
Rex started to explain. Apparently General Skywalker had a fit that resulted in him throwing up the chunks of slugs. Fortunately, Obi-Wan was able to defuse the situation and send the troopers away, but he couldn’t get Anakin to look at him.
“Anakin, are you alright?” Obi-Wan asked as Anakin took one of the slugs in his hand.
“Don’t worry, we’ll figure this out”, he continued as Anakin started digging a hole in the ground and buried the little slugs.
Anakin didn’t talk for a week after that.
-
Obi-Wan broke from his recollection as he reached his and Anakin’s quarters in the Temple. It hadn’t been easy to hide Anakin’s predicament from the Council, but he knew that if they found out they would lock the young Jedi up and conduct tests on him and Obi-Wan wasn’t keen on the idea of his companion being reduced to a lab animal.
As he entered, Obi-Wan knew immediately something wasn’t right.
The whirlwind of dread and pain that had been Anakin’s signature for weeks now, was gone and in its place there was a sense of awe and trepidation.
Obi-Wan went to Anakin’s room, where he found the younger Jedi sitting on the floor, his back turned to the door.
“Anakin”.
As he approached, he noticed a little clump of flesh in Anakin’s hands.
‘Not again’, he thought as he reached for Anakin’s shoulder to comfort him. Before his hand could make contact, Anakin turned, smiling softly and lifting up his hands: “Obi-Wan, look”.
What the Jedi Master saw next left him speechless. What he thought a dead slug, was in fact a fully formed and live one! Its small body was lighter in colour than the other slugs he saw around the Temple and instead of the two side membranes there were four. Two normal size and two smaller ones one the dorsal. The little slug was rubbing its head against Anakin’s hand, while chirping happily at him.
“Anakin. Where did it... come from?” Obi-Wan asked, already suspecting the answer.
“I made it... it came out of... me”. Anakin responded looking shyly at him.
Obi-Wan reached out. “May I?”
“Of course”.
Obi-Wan caressed the small being with his fingers, as not to hurt it. “Well, hello there, little one”.
The slug chirped again, glowing at the positive attention he was receiving, before hiding timidly in the Knight’s sleeve.
“It’s beautiful, Anakin”, Obi-Wan said as he touched the other’s cheek.
Anakin smiled. “I guess... we are parents now?”
The pair shared a laugh. The first in a long time.
Well would you look at that, guess I'm redesigning/rebooting the Star Wars Insight AU. I'm gonna put it under the tag TrueSight AU.
Here's the NEW design for Anakin's true form. The top one in the left corner is when he's upset, his blue hues disappear and his insides boil reddish, yellow. His anger alone can heat up the air around him so intensely, that any metallic object, or droid, will instantly melt just by being near him.
The bottom one on the left is how he normally looks, at least those who have gained insight, to everyone else he looks the same.
Anakin must somewhat concentrate to keep his form human. If he allows his mind to wander or if he completely relaxes, he will shift back into his true form, which is a pain as most buildings aren't made for 14 to 20 foot tall eldritch monsters.
Those who see/stare at Anakin's true form for too long will become violently ill and their mind will start to fracture. However if you are strong in the force, or if Anakin likes you, you will simply just get a nasty headache and a queasy stomach instead.
Here are the new designs for the slugs/snails that attach themselves to Sith/Jedi and feed off the Force energy the emanates from their soul. Every force wielder has one of these, but only those with the ability of True Sight can see them.
The snails/slugs are born grey and colorless and only gain color when they attach to a host. The snails usually take on the color of the Jedi's lightsaber, while the slugs will take on the hue of their Sith's eye color.
If their host is in danger, these creatures can offer a quick boost of power and magnify their host's abilities with the force for a short time.
The snails do this by secreting a clear ooze that absorbs into the Jedi's skin that forces them into a state of serene tranquility and calmness even in the most dire of situations.
The slugs on the other hand will bite into their Sith's neck and inject a potent toxin into their bloodstream that causes great pain, but also gives the Sith immense strength and rage.
If their host dies, so too does the slug/snail that has bonded with them.
There were some requests for more of this AU, so here ya go!
Being a hybrid of an eldritch being and a normal human woman causes Anakin a lot of physical problems. When he shifts from one form to the next, it’s not uncommon for some body parts to reshape incorrectly. It’s usually his teeth, arms, or tentacles that cause the most problems.
Since Obi-Wan is the only one in the beginning to see Anakin’s true form, he takes it upon himself to help Anakin deal with these issue, such as removing extra teeth the grow into his gums or jaw.
The worst is when Obi-Wan has to ‘remove’ an extra arm or tentacle with his lightsaber. He hates doing this, but the extra arms or tentacles are so misshaped and painful that if Anakin shifts again with them attached they could kill him.
