I have a question about Squid Game and how they keep track of Players but first:
SPOILERS AHEAD . . . . PROCEED AT OWN RISK
Okay, single question. So there are 80 people participating in Game 3: Tug of War, then there are 40 people left to participate in Game 4: Marbles. Player 111 is executed and thus only 38 people will participate in Game 4 (Mi-Nyeo being escorted back), in which the population will again be cut in half. So 19 players survive Game 4, adding back in Mi-Nyeo gives us 20 players going into Game 5: Glass Bridge. Player 069 hangs himself in the night over the guilt of killing his wife. Thus 19 players should enter Game 5. But Game 5 is conducted with only 16 players . . . what happened to the other 3? They don’t appear to survive Game 4 but that doesn’t make sense mathematically. Help? Numbers breakdown/timeline below:
Players Starting Squid Game: 456
Players Surviving Game 1, Red Light Green Light: 201
*all remaining players go home*
Player Returning to Squid Game: 187 (14 remain in normal life)
Players Surviving Game 2, Ppopgi: 108
Players Surviving Riots: 80
Players Surviving Game 3, Tug of War: 40
*Doctor (Player 111) dies, Mi-Nyeo (Player 212) bypasses Game 4*
