Getting ahead in a difficult profession requires faith in yourself. You must be able to sustain staggering blows and unfair reversals. November 9 understands early there is no reliable code for beginners, only that you know your strong cards. And don’t play the juvenile lead, invariably misused.

Many creatures born today, with moderate talent, but with great inner drive will go farther than people with vastly superior talent. This inner drive is itself a talent, something you are born with and which no one can teach you to acquire. There are two things which November 9 must learn straight away. The first is to value this drive. Let no one persuade you to downgrade it in your secret psychology. And the second is to respect other people’s greater talent, even if they are less successful than you, and learn how to promote it and them.
