MEETING OF STYLES
by Gus
Two decades ago 25,000 visitors gathered in Wiesbaden, Germany to watch and celebrate the creation of graffiti. Five years later the International Meeting Of Styles (MOS) grew out of that and more than a half-million art fans have now attended over 250 events around the world. In April, 2016 MOS came to the streets of Melbourne, Australia and Brisbane artist Gus Eagleton was on hand to contribute this lovely portrait of Audrey Hepburn in Flinders Court. Reflecting both his traditional painting roots and his experience with graffiti and street art Gus’s work, styled after a 1956 photo by master photographer Yousuf Karsh, encapsulates in some ways the diversity of artistic styles that makes Meeting Of Styles so successful. @instaguss @int_meetingofstyles @mosmelbourne
