I can't believe there are people out there that say dumb things like that. I mean... I can. But at the same time I somehow hope they don't exist. Did they forget that NATURAL DISASTERS do not get avoided because of whoever is in office?? Do they know that the current pandemic situation is so unpredictable in the US due to Trump dismantling the pandemic task force?? Do they realize they're just racist or....? (Also feel free to post/not post I just needed to vent this.) Help people. Be human anon

it’s important to reiterate that natural disasters happen regardless of whoever’s in office.
what’s important is that there are plans and contingencies are set in place. what’s important is that disaster management programs + and its respective departments are sufficiently funded. what’s important is that public officials pay attention and are ready to help.
duterte (and trump over in the us) did not prepare well. that’s why we’re asking for additional help. people in the philippines have to turn to one another for assistance and relief because the government has failed us. and it’s been failing us for a long, long time.
