I think I saw a comment somewhere that said Yuseong's three stances are each based on traditional Chinese weapons? Is that true? If so, can you please elaborate because that sounds dope as shit and I want to know more. Thanks!
Three Section Micstand is of course a reference to the Three Sectioned Staff. While the Ruyi Jingu Boom stance is a reference to the extending staff of Sun Wukong the Ruyi Jingu Bang. With the pun name of swapping Bang for Boom in reference to the long Boom pole used by Boom Mic Operators. The nature of an adjustable micstand allows it to "stretch" the way Wukong's staff does.
But my favorite stance is of course, Meteor Mic. Which is a reference to the classic Meteor Hammer / Rope Dart. one of my favorite weird kung fu weapons.
If you're interested in learning more about Meteor Hammer, PLEASE check out Instructor Bensei. Fantastic youtube channel.
I do feel like using a microphone and audio cable as a Meteor Hammer would be both wildly unsafe and expensive so please don't try it at home.
