Summary:
As was tradition for the Vulcan, Spock felt a compulsive need to study and investigate anything new in his environment -- which included his new Captain. He certainly got more than he bargained for throughout his in-depth – if not borderline OCD – investigation.
The beginnings of the Kirk/Spock relationship as they get to know each other, and how doomed the Enterprise crew is to suffer them once they can't leave each other alone.
Notes:
Inspired by the Season One Finale of Strange New Worlds, I couldn't help writing what we are all dying to find out: How do the two first meet? What do they think of each other? How do they react to each other? What was it like, watching them go from co-workers to friends?
The title is inspired by a quote from Spock's autobiography where he describes Kirk's smile; featured at the end. <3
(Also expect a ton of gratuitous, shameless fan service because I am an insufferable fluff addict who wants the feels on my bus to go round and round. I won't be stifled.)
