“Miss Estrada?” came the voice of Daphne’s assistant on the other side of her door, along with a few gentle knocks. Emily was exactly what she needed to be: polite, a hard-worker, and just pretty enough to disarm clients just before they came to meet with Daphne. That mostly worked on the men. Morons. “It’s Alexander here to see you, you said to let them in when they got here.”
“Oh, finally,” Daphne muttered to herself. She stacked up the papers she’d been working on and set them aside then stood from her desk. “What are you waiting for, Emily, let them in,” she called when the door still didn’t open. She reached into a drawer in her desk and pulled out a bottle of the company’s newest line of rose-infused Vodka that hadn’t hit the shelves yet, and which she had yet to try herself. She’d been specifically waiting for Alexander for this—it had become their thing. “There you are!” she enthused as soon as they walked into the office and Emily shut the door behind them. Daphne gestured to a pair of comfortable chairs on the other side of the room. “I hope you’re in the mood to do a few shots because I’ve finally got my hands on the rose Vodka and I want your opinion.” | @alexanderkaufman
