My last printmaking project. We had to base it off of another artist whether it’s a technique or a style they do.

this semester, i’ve had a chance to explore making political art, and in the process i’ve created what is probably one of my favorite prints so far. it’s a very personal piece discussing rape culture, and the kinds of statements i heard regarding women’s bodies growing up. i really dug deep into the kinds of messages i internalized from a young age and thought about the things i was either told or heard people say around me.

there’s honestly a lot of linework i’d like to fix, and because of that, i may start over with a whole new copper plate so i can get the print to look closer to how i originally intended. whether i do that or not, i’m very glad i took this opportunity to make something so personal.

Intaglio Drypoint prints from my printmaking class. It was hard!!!!!!!!!!! But I think it’s because my plexi plate was so looooooooong, I think I would have enjoyed it if I didn’t try being so extra. Inking was also a huge paint, but...y’know, despite the fact it’s time consuming, it’s messy, and it requires expensive paper? If I could do it again and not worry about time, I would.
