Robin wasn’t due home for another hour. She wasn’t sure how she was going to wait that long. Under any other circumstance, she’d take the edge off with a nice glass of red wine. But, well, she couldn’t really do that now. She’d taken four pregnancy tests, as well as got a blood test from the hospital. She had to be 100% sure. They hadn’t even been sure the cure would work. Neither one of them wanted to get their hopes up too high, just in case. While Regina loved Henry dearly, and she’d adopted Roland, there was just something about carrying her own child - their own child. So, they were going to take things one step at a time. That was roughly three months ago. Apparently, they hadn’t needed much time at all.
Since wine was out of the question, she decided to take a long, hot bath. WIth bubbles. Hopefully it would help relax and calm her nerves. About forty-five minutes later she was dressed in her robe, with a scantily clad piece underneath. She had a feeling there would be some celebrating tonight. Lounging around in her robe wasn’t something that was uncommon, so she knew Robin wouldn’t think anything of it.
Then she hears the front door open. She can feel her heart hammering in her chest, and she descends the stairs to greet him. Her arms wind around his middle, as she pulls him in for a deep kiss, humming against his lips. God, it’s so hard to not just blurt it out. But, it would ruin the element of surprise, despite how giddy she felt. They were going to have a baby. Their own baby. She could hardly wait for him to figure it out. “Come here. I have something I need you to see.” She takes his hand, pulling him into the kitchen. It’s dimly lit, with the exception of the oven light being on. Inside is a plate, with a small roll inside. Bun in the oven. She wanted him to guess. She’d actually seen a video of it online, and thought it was adorable. She hoped he’d get it.
“What do you see here?”
