Senator Joker Arroyo 1927 - 2015 ______________________
One former senator that I never regretted voting for, and have high respect for : Former Senator and Congressman Joker Arroyo. The other two were : Former Senator Jovito Salonga and Former Senator Juan Flavier.
Joker Arroyo, our former district Congressman who never took advantage nor received his P200-Million yearly pork barrel fund since he was elected as Senator from 2001 to 2013. He also never received any pork barrel fund when he was Congressman of Makati for 9 years from 1992 to 2001, earning the name of : “Scrooge of Congress.” To sum it all, would you believe he also never accepted any committee chairmanships during his entire 21-year legislative (both Congress and Senate) work, thus distancing himself from the unpleasant lobbying of the corrupt institutions and individuals.
How I wish current and future Filipino politicans would emulate them. ______________________
