intemperate {
What was to be coveted about the season but its ire and intolerable curiosity? —He was jesting. With the frequency he had been approached in the last few days, he thought perhaps it was the temperate nature that was filling their heads with assorted blooms and gentle greens. Within reason, a student would wish to make new friends during a new year, so of course they'd begin to delude themselves in fanciful friend-making. But just because the season itself was tolerable meant nothing of company, at least not to him.
He was perfectly satisfied with a book in hand and a seat near the gazebo, where he could summon Minerva to his side. Perching by the edge of a post, his attention was drawn directly into an encyclopedia about wyverns, and the likes of which could nearly make his neutral brooding also look exceedingly bright. Perhaps he just looked approachable because he, too, was having a momentary lapse of enjoyment.
Either way, the girl had spent an innumerable amount of time just... resting her eyes upon him. Normally, he'd grow restless by the mere presence of another, but today, he decided not to bother in displacing himself. If she wanted to stare, so be it. His stature indicated that he'd have no part in whatever she was offering— and if she knew any better, she would not disturb a lone wolf.
Minerva was curled up near his feet, undisturbed by her company and unbothered by his lack of interaction. She knew when to let him be. But this girl— This girl didn't.
"It's none of your business." He so rudely started, frigid as could be.
Minerva, on the other hand, fondly raised her head to be played with. And with her eyes directed at the stranger, he knew his dear Minervykins wasn't asking him. "What? Minerva's taken a liking to you." Odd. She was almost as unapproachable as he was. So what exactly...
Lending way to some leniency, he huffed out of his nose to redact his last statement. "I was flicking through some wyvern notes." Well, he was downplaying it, but we can forget about that for a second here. "A rider and wyvern must always be in sync, so understanding their behavior and their physiological builds... that would do me some good in battle."
"Is that enough for you? Must you stare so intently?"
