Intens Rood, a 6.6% blended lambic from Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen (@3fonteinen) with macerated sour cherries, and the Zero Gravity Judge Battle Machine . Overflowing aromas of mashed cherries, citric acid, oak, wine, and a noticeable addition of farmhouse funk right at the end. The sip, as expected, follows beautifully. You're hit first with a deluge of sour cherry juice, blending almost immediately into citric acid and oak barrel notes. The sour profile peaks and then fades, leaving behind only flavors of oak and fresh cherries. The oak subsequently fades as well, and the finish is akin to the taste left in your mouth after you've just demolished a 3 pound bag of cherries..which is how we do it in Michigan 😂. Listen, this is probably a lot more sour than most people comfortably enjoy, but I'm here to encourage you all once again to shake off that apprehension and expand your beer horizons. This is a complex, masterfully crafted lambic from one of the best breweries on the planet. If you're out somewhere and you see one of those glass bottles with a big Chance the Rapper- looking "3" on it, BUY IT. You'll kick yourself later if you don't. If absolutely nothing else, you'll look super cool to people who know beer 😂.
