It's one thing to have characters who act like my brothers/parents/relatives and I, but it's another thing to /see/ it.

media totally skips over the struggle of “what do I identify as” and “what am I really” which is such a big thing for mixed kids depending on what cultures they’re brought up with. especially if you’re super mixed.

Ugh that's terrible, but I wouldn't be surprised. If they're not outright training them to do so, it's definitely passive. I feel like so many systems just need a fresh reboot that includes, oh idk... the basic concept of humanity.

Police officers are so fucked from every angle, man. One of the officers in my hometown killed one of his ex wives and abused the others. To think someone like that is supposed to be protecting u and upholding the law is so fucked up.
