she stands on the opposite end of the cabin from the other, arms folded TIGHTLY across her chest as if a shield. echo and theo had been taken in by both joyce and hopper who offered to assist them in finding a place to stay. theo was currently off with hopper to get some things from the byers’ household which left the two girls. all the young one did was stare, not daring to speka.

her brother was off getting some food- since he could turn invisible which made stealing easier- and echo was sitting home alone. home was simply the conversion of an abandoned bus into a house for the two of them. everything had been quiet and peaceful until she HEARS FOOTSTEPS. quickly she climbs to the roof of the bus and spots the culprit. instantly she waves her hand and hits them with a little bit of a ringing in their ear, hopefully to cause them to stumble. “ too close. ”

she is still as she stares at the other, spreading her feet a little bit just in case things turned BAD in an instant. “ who are you? ” echo calls out utilizing her powers, causing her voice to echo around the other in a circle off the trees. it was best to try and confuse this new person since she had no idea who the hell it was.

she stops in front of the other woman, finding herself- for once - not angry or attempting to fight. there was something about the woman that felt so FAMILIAR that echo was actually taking a few steps in her direction. “ who are you? ” the young girl whispers, voice hoarse from lack of use and the screams she let out every night.

it was pouring down rain, echo’s hair was sticking to her face at every turn. theo and her had gotten separated and the constant noise from the rain HITTING the leaves and ground was distracting her, messing with her abilities. what she needed to do was get out of the rain and hone in on where he was, to know they were both safe. she finds a nearby house and picks the lock with the use of sound, fidgeting the knob around before it clicked open. she steps inside to get around, unaware of anyone in the building.

her brother and her had parted ways in order to acquire supplies. they didn’t have anything to their name and they were sleeping in an abandoned bus out in a junkyard which had little in terms of comfort or food. theo was in town while echo was going through the neighborhoods. as the woods began to end and the houses began, eyes sought out one that might have something and headed towards it. first echo moves to the car and fiddles around with the lock, causing it to open by rubbing on the metal. the first thing that is pulled out is a BAT WITH NAILS. she barely has a moment to examine it before footsteps pop up behind her; echo spins around with the bat in hand, ready to swing.
