heart beating fast in her chest, penelope looked up from the hands that were folded in her lap at him, allowing her gaze to take him in, try to assess the man, her fate was no so inevitably tied to. it was almost impossible to look at him without getting even more nervous than she already was for she didn’t have the slightest clue what the immediate future would hold for her. with him.
“what do you plan to do with me?”, the blonde asked quietly, voice shaking slightly, “i mean, i’m...” she paused desperately trying to find a diplomatic way to describe her current situation without risking offending him. which, judging from how nervous and jumpy her father had been around him, how quick he’d been to offer her up just for the sake of appeasing him and fixing his relationship with the infamous luthor wright (not that she’d ever heard about him before today), might be a bad idea. and she could easily understand why after having spent just a few moments in the same room with him alone. he exuded power and intensity in a way that was bound to get under your skin, to intimidate you simply by existing.
and it was clearly working on her. penny had always been content playing on the sidelines, always careful not to step on anybody’s toes. the perfect, pristine daughter who’d always followed every single rule. and so, of course, she’d agreed to be brought into the devil’s lair if it helped her family. but that certainly didn’t mean she wasn’t intimidated by the situation, by him.
“i mean, i am to stay with you, right?”
