Leah woke up early, she hadn't meant to but being back home tended to do that to her. Being the first one awake she took it upon herself to start breakfast, not right away of course. Even she wasn't exactly in a rush to be awake. When she finally did drag herself out of bed she made coffee a priority and quietly sent a prayer to whoever may be listening that her parents still had the small maker for Luca so he could have his blend.

Pancakes were easy enough and she figured that'd feed the lot of them. Soft footfalls from behind drew her attention and she was somewhat surprised to see it was Cal of all people. Still that didn't stop her from offering a small smile. "Mornin Red. Coffee's done if you want some." They hadn't been here long and already her accent was as thick as if she'd never left. At least she didn't have to try and water it down around Cal.

"Is that always a bad thing?" She teased. Even still she kept her eyes on him, tracking. She might be baiting and wanting to press buttons but they were still sparring. She didn't like making things easy even if she was angling to get under his skin. It of course helped that it felt like a challenge to lay him out. "Ending on your back I mean?" She'd give him a breather, just a second before going back in. Though she didn't expect him to provide the same courtesy.

She ducked her head briefly, smile on her lips as agreed. "Yeah that'd be nice. Then again if Shield ever takes a break we're probably out of a job." Her fingers drummed absently on the table as she regarded her. "Maybe you'll catch a break and that pile of paperwork will be real small tomorrow." It was doubtful but there was nothing wrong with a bit of hope. Plucking her glass from the table she sipped at her own drink.

She nodded in understanding, laughter floating out of her. "The job will do that to ya." She kicked out a chair across from her,"You should sit before you fall apart or whatever."

Dress Dilemma | Leah & Orion

The sound of the front door opening should have been a relief. At best it gave her hope that someone could help her decide and get her out of this panic she was in. With two dresses in hand she scurried out into the living room as the door clicked closed behind Orion. She was completely oblivious to how her state of undress might come across as she was only in her underwear, grey and lacy and a little too much like something you’d only show a partner. Then again that was most of her underwear.

“So this is the blue dress which I like.” She started as she held it up as if he hadn’t seen it before. “And then there’s this one. More casual. What do you think?” She tilted her head to the side, loose curls sweeping along her shoulders as she looked at him.

Kid Free Weekend | Leah & Orion

Leah was thrilled to have a weekend to herself. It was made even better when she learned that Orion also had a free weekend. One good thing about having little girls is that they loved sleepovers. So when Arietta came home with an invitation for a weekend sleepover at a friends Leah almost couldn’t rsvp quick enough. She knew the parents and Arietta, and Indigo, were good friends of the birthday girl so it all worked out.

Now it was Saturday night and they were both free. A free night meant a mash up of take-out and generous amounts of chilled white wine. The sound of the doorbell had her springing to answer the door. She had been in charge of pizza and he was in charge of Chinese. Tossing the door open she let out a bright laugh as it wasn’t just the delivery guy in the hall but Orion was coming down the hall behind him. “My two favorite boys.” She greeted playfully as she pulled the money out of her pocket to pay. “Tips in there. Have a good night.” She got a nod in return before she had an arm full of pizza and was leading Orion into the apartment. “Tell me they had my teriyaki chicken.”
