@apocketfullofmuses for sophie
When Sam had reached out to Daredevil years ago, he didn't have many expectations that the man would agree to help him, much less train him. He hadn't expected to train alongside him and the other Daredevil that followed him around everywhere, he hadn't expected to learn his secret identity and occasionally be invited over for dinner at his house with his family (he didn't even know superheros had those to begin with). And that was not even mentioning how he helped Sam with his citizenship, or how his wife had helped him land a job at Stark Industries— things that used to be so out of reach for him, he couldn't help but think that the least he could do was continue to keep the city safe once Daredevil retired.
Well, one of them anyway.
Sophie had taken on her dad's mantle, and had been doing a good job from what he heard. They used to patrol together a lot before, because her dad was either busy with work or Felicity had convinced him to actually rest for the night, but they hadn't run into each other in the past few weeks since Matt retired. He could secretely admit that he missed patrolling with her, so when he spotted her watching him while he stopped a mugging, it was a more than welcome sight. First things first though.
He went back to the victim, making sure they were okay and directing them to the nearest precinct if they wanted to press charges. Then he checked the battery of his suit— he really should be working on a better power source by now, but batteries were cheap and easy to get, and he didn't really have the time to put in the work. One way or another, they were almost dead, so no more invisibility for the night. There wasn't any point in going invisible and trying to surprise Sophie anyway, she could always tell where he was regardless, like her dad could.
So he made his way up the fire escape to meet her. "I thought you devil types only stayed in Hell's Kitchen," He teased her, despite knowing that wasn't really the case. "What would bring you all the way to Chinatown?"
