“Eternal growth”
Author:Grace /liuguiyu
I used to raise some animals and plants, but almost all died, did not raise. Many things cannot be accompanied forever. The real itself is replaced by symbols, and symbols continue to grow instead of the real and will never disappear.
Through the form of AR, I recreated some small lives that had been raised and planted in the virtual world. The symbols of reality instead of reality itself, to create a house of my own memories, let them continue to grow, eternal growth, always exist!
In Baudrillard's Simulation and Simulacra, there is an example: the map takes the land as the object of simulation. Eventually, with the empire gone, the simulation of the map was no longer reflective and discursive, but essentially genetic, with the map coming before the land, and the simulacry coming before it.
The artificial reference is resurrected in the system of signs, and signs are more malleable than meanings. The real signs replace the real itself. It is no longer a question of imitation or repetition, or even of parody, but of replacing reality itself with real symbols.
It is no longer a question of imitation or repetition, or even of parody, but of replacing reality itself with real symbols.
Many things disappear and no longer exist. They record traces of things through data, information, images or symbols, or recreate new life signs and stories of things.
Data takes the things that once existed as the simulation object, and the things created can grow forever.
If the data can completely replicate the missing things, and the replicated things also have their own state of life, inorganic life instead of organic life.
Does it not matter, then, whether life exists or not? If the data captures exactly what the simulated object remembers, sees and sees, and at the same time replicates the image of the object, nothing seems to have changed.
Is this kind of eternal growth acceptable?
