Having mixed-caste children weakens the fabric of society and sets the children up for failure and misery.
First, studies that apply broadly across castes: on average, mixed caste children have a rate of depression that is 26% higher than the general population [1]. Additionally, mixed caste children are more than six times as likely to express out-of-caste preferences, dissatisfaction with their caste, and a sense of belonging to the wrong caste. Even when one counts the castes of both parents as in-caste, they are still more than twice as likely as non-mixed-caste children to have such preferences [2].
Additionally, on average, mixed-caste children are worse than non-mixed-caste children at the signature traits of their caste. This is true regardless of caste (I couldn’t find data regarding mixed-caste children assigned to the blue caste, since they’re so rare, or mixed-caste children assigned to the red caste, since people want to pretend they don’t exist. Please send me relevant studies if you are aware of any.)
It’s hard to evaluate purple skills, because they don’t really fall into a single distinct category (which relates to the necessity for modifying caste divisions, but that’s besides the current point.) However, a study of mechanics found that, on average, real purple mechanics were 21% more reliable than mixed-caste purple mechanics [3]. Additionally, mixed-caste purple children are less likely to be able to focus in purple school than real purple children, based on a study of disciplinary records in Cene [4].
Orange skills are also difficult to measure, even though they’re better defined than purple skills, but there have been some attempts to measure empathy. One test that’s used sometimes is a theory-of-mind test, which is a little complicated but essentially measures how well people can imagine themselves in the place of others. On average, real orange children can almost always pass on their first birthday, but 24 percent of mixed-caste orange children can’t pass until a full season later [5].
Grey skills again encompass a variety of things, but I found a study [6] that evaluated all castes (except red people) for time it takes to run one Yueta, number of pushups able to do, and inches reached in a flexibility test. Obviously these are going to vary a lot depending on the age of the child, so the study was only looking at 2.5-year-olds. On average, pure grey children ran the Yueta in 7:29, and mixed-caste grey children took 8:04. Pure grey children completed an average of 27.2 push-ups, and mixed-caste grey children completed only 19.4 (which was actually less than the purple average, 21.6). Pure grey children were able to reach three and a half hands on average, while partially grey children could only reach two and three-quarters hands.
When yellow young adults were given the Worli Evaluation of Logical Reasoning, genuine yellow people answered an average of 87% of the questions correctly, while partially yellow people had an average of only 76% [7]. Additionally, true yellow three-year-olds given the Echienn Memory Assessment had a typical recall of 94%, while mixed-caste yellow three-year-olds had a recall of 85% (excluding three outliers who answered every question incorrectly) [8].
I have already discussed the effects of intercaste marriage on green intelligence; I see no need to retred that ground.
One common counterargument is that intercaste children have stronger attributes for skills of the other parent’s caste. This is likely true; however, it is more important that people have attributes that match their caste. As long as a cafè owner has the minimum empathy not to poison me, purple skills are more important to me than orange skills. I would prefer my doctor to be a good leader, but if I have to chose between an intelligent doctor and a charismatic one, the choice is obvious. It doesn’t matter how fast a programmer can run if they can’t make their programs run. In general, out-of-caste attributes are relevant primarily in cases of extreme deficiency; for most of the population, what matters is their skill in in-caste work.
