[Video: the camera stays on an artful black and white banner that reads "black love matters". In the background is a steady grooving beat and indistinct voices talking.] ♥♥♥ Grateful to have been able to take me and my spoons down to #blmtotentcity today for the first time since they set up last week. I feel like my spirit had been on the ground and there every day. In the morning when I pray that folks were warm enough and could sleep. In the afternoon and middle of the night when I hope folks are swaddled with support and love and getting their needs met. In the evening and at night when I thank the gods the sun set on another day and worry about what the popo are going to get up to under cover of night. Grateful that I was able to get to bathe in some of the love and connection, rage, grief and healing that black and nonblack pals and fam have been telling me about all week. Such deep blessings for getting to see the sweet faces of so many dear ones! So much #sickcripDeafmad presence and power today. And all the babies. 😍 Black and brown babies dancing to the beat and grown folk calling out that we matter, that we will survive. ✊ Love and gratitude to everyone who's kept this convo going and this action bubbling. At home. In bed. In dreams. Online. Onsite. Love and witnessing to allllllll the folks who aren't, can't, won't be able to be there body, spirit, or otherwise. You don't have to be here for me to think of you and praise your brilliance. You dont have to text or tweet or make your presence/absence known for me to want you to make it to tomorrow. I don't even have to know you or your name! There's much much to say and write about being black, sick, and disabled and being a part of the 'movement', part of the 'action'. They are hard things and beautiful things, much like living in a complex and intersectional body. I hope I can get them down soon enough. For now I need to run a bath and have some apologetic conversations with my back and lower limbs. Goodnight. #blacklovematters #BLMTOblackout #blmtoblackmoon #criplife #sickblacklivesmatter #postrallymusings #ableisminorganizing #interdependanceinorganizing #blacklivesmatter
