23, 29 and 49 for the ask game!
fanfiction writing asks!
23: Is writing the beginning, middle, or end of the story easiest? Hardest?
Lately, the easiest part of writing for me has been the middle, I guess you could say, since I've been writing little one-shots and scenarios for AUs and intended longfics.
Endings for longfics tend to be the toughest unless I already know how I want it to end; I'll have the beginning and meat of the story all in mind, and then "oh wait, it has to END?" Especially when I feel like I still have so much to say with it - but then, that's where I can do one-shots and peeks into the future or "what-if" pieces, right? XD
29: What’s something about your writing that you’re proud of?
I'm proud of my characterization, and the ability to have my OCs flow so easily into the story that they don't feel isekai'd into it (even though I am Fandom Old and will forever fear the "Mary Sue" label). I want my love for these characters to come out when I write them, so when I do have to end up writing characters I don't really like Hojo I still give them that respect to their characterization and personality so that even if you know me and know I don't LIKE them, you wouldn't be able to tell while reading.
I mean c'mon, I even gave Hojo a very Resident Evil-esqe transformation sequence here in 'when your outside matches your insides' - which was a helluva lot of fun to write and imagine!
49: What fic of yours would you say is the best introduction to you as a writer?
'kintsugi' - a piece I am endlessly proud of and one of my favorite ones (can I say that without sounding conceited? lol). If you'd like a more adult introduction to my work, then I would go with 'when chaos and passion collide.'
Thank you so much for the ask! 💖
