Multiple Worlds Reflective Statement
And so anther assignment comes to a close. I have to say I am glad its over and can now focus on my DIY and Physical Computing. When we starting this project I was unsure about how I felt about it. I didnt really understand what we were trying to achieve, but i think everyone was in the same boat. Finding something that no one in our group had any prior knowledge about was quite a challenge but when my group decided to look at Love and Hate as our area of knowledge I began to see where this was taking us.
My role in the group was the Theoretical role. I wasnt sure what being theoretical meant exactly but i took it as going beyond the surface of knowledge and finding deeper meaning for it. I chose to read part of Plato’s Thoery of love which gave me a different outlook on the average persons view of love. As we did more research we started to discover that Love and Hate are not exactly what we thought they were. One article I looked at which was writen by a scientist that had done experiments on brain activity when we feel love and hate. They found that the same areas of the brain activate when we feel both love and hate, which i thought was really interesting.
We decided to bring in three objects. One that we loved, one that we hated, and one that we both loved and hated. For my objects I had my headphons for love, a blank piece of paper for hate, and my pencil for love and hate. The idea of using objects to show love and hate was what we ended up taking further and using as our knew way or gaining tacit and explicit knowledge.
This new way of using object to find out more exspecially for emotions was something I believed to be very unique and could even be something poepl could use in general.
