God's guiding hand: as each of you know, the Lettermen of the USA 🇺🇸 is a nonprofit org. That means we must rely on vol & donations in order to meet the needs of those we have chosen to serve. With everything that is going on I our country, & the world for that matter, times have been tough. I began to wonder how we would make it through another yr. So, I called a good friend of mine & we prayed together on the ph and asked GOD to please intervene. And wouldn't you know it? GOD did. But when able, GOD still requires us to do our part. Last wk I began my week traveling to Homewood, BHM, Hoover, Vestavia & Pelham. Then, we found ourselves in Tus, AL. Afterwards, it was back to Homewood and BHM. Followed by continuing the circle Forrester Gardens apartments in Tus. Then, back to  Homewood and Birmingham to meet with Floresha & Corey at Regions Bank to discuss future opportunities with them. Are you confused yet? I know I am in writing these sentences. Believe it or not we went back to Tuscaloosa to visit the Forrester Gardens apt. Then,  back to Homewood and then, we took the long trip down Highway 280 to Auburn University to meet Rear Admiral Davis’s friend U.S. Navy Ret CAPT Puck Esposito, USMC Gunnery Sergeant Ricardo “Gunny” Garcia & Curtis Pippin. All of that driving found us back up in Tus, AL at Forrester Gardens apt until 11:36 PM. Are you still confused? I think I am too! But watch how God blesses. The next day it was a mad dash from Homewood to to Madison, AL to Breling Homes, Helping Heroes, Bass Pro Shop the Crossing at River Landing 100 home challenge to a welcome home ceremony for SSG Michael Brown, USA. This was the 2nd of two helping hero homes awards, given in partnership w Breland Homes at The All Star salute to Lee Greenwood health at the von Braun Civic Center on Oct 12, 2021. Once again, I got to meet one of my idols in the country music world, Lee Greenwood. We have completed another turnkey veteran apartment installation for Phil, who served 6 years in the United States Army active duty and Army Reserves . After his service he had a 25 - year career as a nurse, residing most recently in Chicago . Phil suffered a medical crisis while vacationing with his family back in ALabama , and had to stay here. He lost his job , home , furniture and car. Ultimately , Phil entered the transitional program at Salvation Army which provided transitional shelter and veteran resources to help him get on his feet . Phil has 2 supportive brothers who live close by who are making sure Phil will never feel alone. For this project we restored several older but high quality pieces , and I am thrilled with the result ! We so appreciate the continued support of the Buy Nothing Vestavia community who gifted Phil with a beautiful new home . What a wonderful way to honor a veteran and a nurse who has provided aid to so many others !
