The End of Korean War. Today is a historic day. I would like to express my joy that the two Koreas had came together and ended this long lasting war in such a peaceful manner. The ending of this 65-year-long war also brings hope and possibilities that conflicts can be resolved calmly and diplomatically.
This is indeed the warmest spring since a long time.

When Kim Jong Un stepped over to the South, he spontaneously asked Moon Jae In if he wanted to also take a step to the North, to which Moon Jae In agreed, surprising all the spectators present.
Then the two leaders used soil taken from the southern most mountain, Hallasan, and the northern most, Baekdusan, to plant a pine tree sown in 1953, during the planned commemorative tree planting ceremony. They also water the plant with water from Seoul’s iconic Han River and water from North Korea.
The last planned event of the day was the sending off ceremony, there is a music and lighting performance. The national traditional orchestra and pianist Jung Jae Il put up the performance. Jung Jae Il is also the composer, he made an instrumental piece combining modern instruments with traditional ones to recreate the iconic Korean folk music “Arirang”.
