Mostly telangana people love all folk songs and traditional one. These type of tracks are mostly played in the month of June every year in telangana. Y? bcoZ a traditional festival would be held in June every year it is known as Mahakali Jatara or bonalu. The festival is also considered a thanksgiving to the Goddess for fulfillment of vows. It is a festival to Telangana and is dedicated to the worship of Shakti (Goddess power)in the form of various Grammaa(village) Devatas. It is a divine of the word Bhonalu( meals or a feast) where devotees offer cooked food to the Ammavaru. Let's discuss how this tradition came into exists? Mostly women carry earthen pots containing rice cooked with jaggery, milk, decorated with Neem,Haldi and also offer Kumkum, Saree, Bangles to the Ammavaru.(Goddess Mahakali)The festivities is came into exist in Secunderabad since 1813, after a deadly plague(disease) contaminated out in the city. The Hindu devotees of the Hyderabad were then in Ujjain, and they prayed to Mahankali to save city from plague.They promised to build a temple of Goddess Mahakali in Secunderabad if the plague cures. The plague was curbed and no more health degraded and in gratitude the people has built the temple for Ujjain Mahankali in Secunderabad.Since then, Bonalu has been a regular celebration in Hyderabad/Secunderabad, as a Thanksgiving festival of sorts.
