Yoga Mat or Interlocking Mats
This is the question that I’ve been getting a lot. Is it better to use a yoga mat or those interlocking mats? The answer to this is simple. It is best to use that which is suitable for you based on your needs. That’s all there is to it. It’s because it would be a waste to spend on something so expensive and only to end up not making the most of what you’d buy. You’ll end up wrecking what you’d pay for if you’re going to settle for something that’s weaker than what you need too. So choose wisely between the two.
The yoga mat is designed for floors that are already even and mostly for bodyweight exercises. Interlocking mats are there to establish an even floor and to have thick pads separating the feet and the floor. Either of the two products have varying sizes. Some of them are thick while others are thin. In most cases, to make the most of their money, customers get those that are thick. That’s because they are more durable due to their thickness. But thicker sheets are usually warmer to touch as compared to those that are thin. So you really have to have a feel of either or both to decide which one is best for you.
Also, consider where you’re working out. Is it that you plan on bringing something to another place or want to have fixed sheets on the ground in your home for exercising. If you want something that is portable then go for the yoga mat that you can roll. Interlocking mats can be disassembled but are often challenging to transport because of their size. They might not weigh much but they occupy a lot of space, unlike the yoga mat. So yoga mats are ideal for those who are going to the gym and just want a clean surface to exercise on. Interlocking or puzzle mats are ideal for home gyms because they are thicker and are impractical to carry around.
