interlude: shadow is such an amazing song because the build up is insane and the transition into the chorus again is done so tastefully. like when he starts going into a different flow for his second verse that’s faster paced but the instrumental is still at the previous pace but the sound grows louder? the chorus coming in but done as if someone is gasping for air in each guitar riff and the piano after he softly restates his hook. ugh the DROP. it feels daunting? and then completely insane and it makes you feel like you’re dancing unwillingly. i genuinely think this song is genuinely so fucking good and overlooked. FUCK this song is amazing. yoongi’s producing skills are truly skillful.

can we talk about just how haunting the shadow mv direction is. the shining-esque hallway, the glass splinters, the chasing, the anonymous mob, the cellphones, the hands, the broken mirrors, the smudged red walls, yoongi’s face blurring, all the uncomfortable zooms and voice distortion. what yoongi shows us is a horror vision of fame.
