Intermittent Writing

I don’t really know what to write about today, so I suppose I’ll talk about my process and my reasons for doing this. Generally I’ll get a small idea and work from there. These ideas are usually based on things going on around me or random thoughts I’ve had throughout the day.

I’m mainly doing this so that I can improve my writing skills and maybe do something with that. As of now I don’t think I’m creating anything exceptionally good, probably mediocre at best, but that’s what it’s for. I suppose I’m hoping that someone will like this but at the same time I’m not really expecting much to come of this. I suppose my end goal is writing a book or something of the sort.

Intermittent Writing - Day 12

"The stars in the night sky began to swirl above me. I was losing myself in the moment as my mind grew fuzzier. Thoughts became simpler, eventually turning to the moment I was in and nothing more. I couldn't think, only feel. I was nearly dead. But in this moment I was more alive than I had ever been."

Intermittent Writing - Day 12

"The hastily cleaned tables glistened beneath the florescent lights. The floor was wet with a mixture melted snow and fine sand. The radio played faintly with a barely audible tune that was overpowered by the din of restaurant noise. An empty cup sat upright on the table in front of him, it had held coffee beforehand. Aside from the staff it was mostly empty, the only other people being what he assumed was a couple. They were leaving."

"They stood outside, beneath the angry grey sky, surveying the scene before them. The earth cracked open like a fresh wound. Silence, unbearably loud, crushing in. The snow fell softly."

“Time seemed to stretch on for years as he passed in and out of consciousness. His waking hours only pain and confusion, the only respite being sleep, preferring the fever dreams and unfathomable horrors that wracked his mind to the discomfort of lucidity.”

"The world around him moved quickly while he sat motionless. Time slipping away, everything aging, as he remained unchanged."

“He was enveloped in near darkness as he lay in his bed. The only source of light, a dim street lamp, only illuminated enough to make the shadows in the space confusing. The only sounds in the room were the ceiling fan and his own rasping breath. He was dying and he knew it.”
