Rainbow Bones

A rainbow is in my bones

Take my branches and watch me grow

Admire my glow

As the slurs ricochet off my vibrant chest.

I know what it’s like to feel alone

No one can hear the screams

In my head

Of all the words i wish I could say

But haven’t said.

Have pride in your quirks

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a girl or a boy

Or you’re outside the binary.

You may feel you don’t have a place

That you’re abandoned by society.

But if you take away one thing

Let it be this…

You should be proud to exist.
