The thing about these middle class white American gentiles' children crying woe is them with their little feelings about what's going on in Eastern Europe right now, some of us are here thinking: this is actually not something new to us.
I grew up with my grandparents' stories about Japan's occupation, the Sino-Japanese Wars, WWII, the communist cultural revolution. Then only a few years after I immigrated to the U.S., 9/11 happened, and I was watching the news when President Bush declared war on Afghanistan. 20 years of hearing about fightings in the Middle East, of watching people I personally know getting deployed to war zones, only for it to end up back at square one. If I were to describe my personal feelings honestly right now, it would be that I am emotionally exhausted by yet another international conflict. Another war, another time when human beings will murder each other out of self-righteousness or greed or whatever stupid reason, and the innocent and the helpless are the ones to pay for it.
I'm not saying you shouldn't be disturbed by a war. You are supposed to be bothered by wars and human sufferings. But some of y'all have got to check your privileges and spare a thought for what this is really about, the real people whom this is affecting, and what it really means.
