Now
Strange feeling knowing you're timeless and eternal between people so modern, stuck in the present. They would get lost time travelling whereas if you did, people out there would be glad you're back.
I'm happy to see that there are people who can mix past, present and future so well. I sometimes struggle with that, I see everything in black and white and can't find balance. Listen to old music on AirPods, watch futuristic movies on your laptop, wear sneakers with long coats and white shirts with baggy jeans. cultivate tradition, accept the present and be ready for the future.

more academia types 🌸
romantic academia: you see the best in people (even when maybe you shouldn’t), K-dramas are the way to go, you work harder than people realise, what’s wrong with a liiiiitle bit of gossip? You always have gum, candy or little chocolates in your bag (that your friends try to take), the cutest pencil case, for some reason always cold.
theatre academia: all the teachers love you, a little bit of a know it all but can be charming, you definitely need to brush your hair more, other students definitely recognise you, surprisingly quiet when you want to be, tend to roll your eyes at people mucking around and wasting time, so good at winging it that you’re surprised when studying actually improves your grade?
chaotic academia: Promising to sleep earlier and then whoops! though you’re notes are amazing you spend agess writing them, refusing to start studying unless you have the perfect playlist…only to get instantly distracted by the songs, trying to do too many things at once, thinking you lost your phone at least once a day only for it to ALWAYS be in your bag already.
witchy academia: you either love or hate a subject no in between, rarely speak in class but when you do it’s surprisingly deep, content to sit and observe the happenings of the classroom, people come to you for secrets, info or gossip but you know less than you actually let on, the only person that’s capable of napping in class and getting away with it.
writer academia: probably wrote an adorable story about magic cats when you were a kid, you make bad poetry about your friends (or you should if you don’t !!) you buy way too many notebooks and stationary that you don’t actually use, everyone is impressed by how quickly you can type, very indecisive, definitely been caught reading in class when you should be working.
fairy academia: you have a good luck necklace or scrunchie you wear on test days, teachers don’t really know what to make of you, the person everyone borrows pencils from, consistent day dreaming in classes yet still able to understand what’s going on, most likely to be told off for giggling with a friend, probably the best at memorising out of anyone.
AO3 academia...
Hey!
I’m doing my MA dissertation on AO3’s data preservation practices and figured I might as well ask:
Is there anybody out there who a) is looking into similar stuff and can lend a young padawan guidance? Or b) knows where I could find some good sources about AO3′s founding and mission?
streetwear (?? kinda modern) academia™
you wouldn't tell they're an academic bc of their style
(secretly) reads a lot of books
has a diverse music taste
rocks baggy clothes
doesn't 'fit' into the stereotypical dark academia aesthetic but remember being an academic is a lifestyle, not a clothing style
organized folders with files on their laptop
gets the best grades from their friend group
gets called nerd a lot but doesn't give a fuck
teachers' pet

(I've never seen this kind of academia type aesthetic anywhere. it's a lil bit like modern academia but also not really. you get the point)
Modern academia
earphones in at all times
reading on the train
studying on Facetime with your friend
podcasts
creating study playlists
decaf coffee or tea
venting in the notes app
coat and hoodie combo
learning a few languages on Duolingo
historical shows on Netflix
buying books online
rewriting notes from notebooks to laptop at home
