The new bullshit community guideline changes make me nervous for witchblr. Any pictures of art (shameless nudity!!), discussion of sexuality or sex positivity (sex!!), and any potentially sensitive content (but not nazis or pedophiles!!) will be banned. Essentially, if the Puritans didn’t like it, it’s BANNED.
I’m not paranoid without reason! Teaching or discussing witchcraft (in the U.S. at least) is considered an activity for those 18 years and older. U.S. laws forbid the “interfering with parental rights”, “interfering with the upbringing of a minor”, and “contributing to the delinquency of a minor”. This has been used against religious teachings in general, and even though witchcraft is not inherently religious, it does make religious parents nervous and jumpy.
Basically, if you are providing info about a religion and the minor’s parents don’t approve, it’s a legal problem. Don’t be surprised if witchy blogs get banned because they could be sensitive content to someone. @Staff left enough wiggle room in their own guidelines to expand the bounds of what is “inappropriate”.
SO ~ I’m going to spam as many posts as possible so they can be saved to my virtual grimoire. There is an applet that can save your posts to another service, and I’m going to use it as much as possible before everything falls to shit. This is my apology in advance!
