I USED TO LIVE AROUND THE CORNER FROM INTERNLOGAN AND WE ARE JUST NOW FINDING THIS OUT WHAT THE HELL.
A story for my best friend who's birthday is today!!!
At least, this is how it was going on Earth. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves.
On her 11th birthday, Logan was celebrating as she always had. But miles away, in Europe, a certain book with her name in it called for a special invitation to be sent to her. In ink it was written, carefully folded, put in an envelope and addressed to her house. An owl took it in its talons and flew off, out of a glassless window, and off into the cool Spring air. In the owl’s talons held an entirely different life for Logan. A life filled with magic and witchcraft and wizardry. A life that was, debatably, more suited for her.
But it was intercepted.
The owl, as well as the letter, did not make it. Instead, both were destroyed midflight.
And it was no accident.
Thus began an entirely different life for Logan. She stayed where she was, living as she was. She would hope, deep in her heart, that that wonderful castle lay beyond the Atlantic. That that life was possible, and intended for her. That she was magical.
But she could not have known just how magical she was. That is, until her 19th birthday, which just so happens to be today. Today, when she will, at last, receive her letter.
______________________________________________________________
You check your Tumblr, because a friend of yours had just told you to. She told you she’s written a story just for you. You began reading, but your reading will have to wait, for your class had just begun.
You sit down, and class goes on as usual. You start to glance along the walls of the classroom, your attention fading. Suddenly, you spy a little red dot on the wall. It’s moving around. You look around to see who has the laser pointer, but you can’t see any laser pointers. You look at the dot again, as it continues to move frantically along the wall. You still can’t seem to find the source of it, though. You entertain the thought that perhaps it’s not anyone in the classroom doing that, but someone shining it through the window. You look out the window, and see only a glimpse of a person, ducking behind another campus building.
As soon as class lets out, you go to where you saw the figure. You can’t seem to find it. As you turn around, you spot another red dot on the opposite wall. You twirl around quickly to see the figure again, ducking behind another building. You follow him, and spot yet another red dot. You continue to follow, moving farther and farther away from the campus, until you suddenly run across something that makes your heart stop…
“Hello! Sorry, did I shine this thing in your eye at any point? There’s a label on here, says that’s dangerous… maybe give you eye cancer. Have you got eye cancer? I’d feel really bad if I gave you eye cancer.” A mad man with a box slips a laser pointer in the pocket of his coat. His beloved box stands behind him, taller and more real then you could’ve imagined.
“Anyway, hi, I’m the Doctor! You’re Logan, aren’t you?”
You attempt a reply, but your mouth is simply too dry.
“Well, let’s just go off the assumption that you are Logan, because we don’t have a lot of time. I need you to come with me. You’re being watched. So, you need to get inside the TARDIS. Right now.”
He slips quickly into the TARDIS, leaving the door ajar for you. Through the crack, you can see the console, which is farther away in your depth of vision then possible for a box that small. After a second or two of contemplation, you rush inside, and enter the vast interior of the TARDIS. You’ve seen this place millions of times, but now… now that you’re here, it’s like you’re seeing it for the very first time…
The Doctor looks at you, a bit expectantly. You feel obligated to indulge him.
“It’s bigger on the inside…” you say. He grins widely and nods.
“Yes, yes it is!” He says proudly, walking past you and shutting the door behind you. “But enough of the formalities, we’ve got business to attend to. I’ve got something of yours.”
You look at him, as he pulls something out of his pocket. A slightly burned envelope. You turn it over in your hands, and you see your address written in green ink. You swallow, looking at the Doctor, then back at the envelope, opening it with shaking hands.
“Dear Ms. Creasman,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on 1 September. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.
Yours Sincerely:
Minerva McGonagall
Deputy Headmistress”
You smile widely as you read it. So you were accepted… Hogwarts is real… but…
“What happened..?” You ask. “Why didn’t I get this when I was 11?”
“Someone, or a lot of someones, didn’t want you to go.”
“Why?”
He looked you in the eyes. “Because you’d pose an even greater threat.”
“… Threat? Me?”
“Oh yes. You’re very special, Logan, very important. Too important, some say, to let you have that much power.”
“But what do they think I’ll do?”
“Turn the tide of war.”
“..What war??”
“I’ll let him tell you.” He said, going to the console. You follow him.
“Who?”
“You’ll see! I’m keeping it a surprise.”
You watch him as he starts flipping switches and doing all sorts of things that you’ll probably never understand what it does. The thought makes you smile a little. He truly is the Doctor.
“Doctor…” You say in a British accent, because that’s the only correct way to say it.
“Hmm?”
“What makes me so special?”
He looks at you. “Once again, I’ll let him tell you.”
He flips a final switch.
“WRRRRR….WRRRRR….WRRRRR….”
The ship starts to shake violently, and you grab onto the console for dear life. The adrenaline kicks in, and you start laughing as the TARDIS shakes and spins. Your laugh infects the Doctor, putting a grand smile on his face.
Then, way too soon, you think, the TARDIS stops. You look around.
“Where are we?” you ask.
He looks at you and smiles. “Asgard.”
“…what???” You ask. This is one part AMAZING, and one part overwhelming. You’re not sure you can handle all this in a few minutes.
“Go outside, see for yourself!”
You look towards the door, and slowly walk towards it. You open the door…
Holy shit. You’re in Asgard. You see the buildings that pose as giants compared to what you’ve seen before. The tops of the tallest towers stretch out to touch the heavens, a vast starry sky clear and crystal. The golden aura of the city is almost too bright and too powerful to look at, but you manage. You look down, and find that you’re standing on a crystalized, rainbow bridge. The Doctor walks out of the TARDIS with you. You look up at him.
“…this is…” you mutter.
“I know.” He responds, looking at you and smiling.
You smile back.
“Now, to get you an audience with the God of Thunder.”
You swallow, taking his hand. You and he walk together towards the looming, honestly intimidating city. You look around as you walk. Not many people are walking the streets right now, but those who are leer a little at you. You sense a distrust with them. Some have a hint of fear, as well.
“Why are they looking at me like that…?”
“Again, they think you’re a threat.”
“Why?”
He just nodded forward. You sigh and walk with him, up to a giant set of golden doors. The guards stop you and the Doctor.
“What is your business here?” One asks. The Doctor pulls out his psychic paper, and thus, are immediately given entrance. The doors swing open wide, and you step in.
You walk through a grand hall, the archways that hold the ceiling so far up above you, you can barely see it. The floor beneath you is polished gold and marble, making your footsteps echo across the expanse. The Doctor walks with you until you reach the throne room. There, upon the throne, sits Thor. He swiftly gets up off of his throne, and walks toward the Doctor with a menacing glare.
“What is the meaning of this?? Why have you brought the child??? Send her back immediately!!”
“Um... no. No, I don’t think I will.”
“You test-“
“Thor, we’ve talked about this. She needs to know!”
“I gave no permission to bring her here!!!”
“That is true, however, I am here now.”
“You will leave.”
“I will not.”
“You forget who stands before you!”
“So have you!” He shouts back. Thor stays silent for a moment, an obvious strain in his face.
“… What do you hope to accomplish? Do you wish us all damned?”
“No. I wish for this to end. I wish for there to be an understanding.”
“There is nothing more to understand! I forbid you to tell her!”
“… As you wish.” He says, stepping back a bit. “Then you’ll have to tell her.”
“I will do no such thing. I will not sign my people’s death warrant.”
“She will not hurt you!”
“She will do what he says!”
You look at the Doctor, who looks at Thor. “Ohhh, now you’re gonna have to explain that one.” He says, smirking.
“Be gone.”
“Tell her.”
“I said be gone!”
“Tell her first!”
“Do not TEST me!” He shouted, reaching out his hand for Mjolnir.
“I’ll test you however I like!”
Thor’s hammer found its way to his hand, and Thor raises it above his head.
“BE GONE!!!”
“RUN!” The Doctor suddenly shouts, taking your hand and bolting. You struggle to keep up with him, as you feel electricity shoot through the ground, rapping at the bottoms of your feet. You wince and jump up a bit in pain.
“Guards! Throw them out! They are banished from Asgard!”
“Ok, I might have pushed him too hard.” The Doctor admits, running as fast as he can. You see guards in golden armor start towards you, weapons in hand. You hold onto the Doctor’s hand tighter, trying to keep up. You and he just barely make it out of the castle before the guards get to an unsavory close distance to you. They start firing their weapons, bolts of light skimming past you and hitting walls in front of you. The Doctor slips into an alley, then into another, trying to get them off your trail. After a while of running, you stop hearing sounds of pursuit. The Doctor slows down, then stops, catching his breath. You take the time to catch yours, too.
“So… now what?” You ask. The Doctor sighs.
“I guess I’m going to have to tell you.” He looks at you. “Listen… the war I was talking about… it’s between Thor, and his brother Loki. Thor’s winning, but your birth marked a foil in his plans. You alone are capable of winning the war for Loki.”
“… How?”
“… You are Loki’s daughter. His only daughter.”
You swallow. You… Loki’s daughter…?
“But… how?”
“You were given to your human parents. It was decided by Asgardian council that you wouldn’t be raised by him. They fear that Loki would have that influence on you to take the throne from Thor.”
Your body shakes a bit. So all this time…
You hear shouting behind you. “Time to go.” The Doctor whispered, taking your hand and running. You run with him, the world around you blurring a bit as you contemplate the significance of all this. Soon, you find yourself back at the TARDIS, but you can’t really recall how you got back. You just kinda did.
The Doctor sighs. You look at him.
“… I want to see him.” You say.
“Hmm?”
“Loki. I want to see him.”
“That’ll be a bit difficult.”
You look at him. He looks back. Then he grins.
“Loki’s in a holding cell on S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Helicarrier. Which means the security will be insanely difficult to get past.”
“Couldn’t you just land the TARDIS in the room Loki’s in?”
“Well, yes, but it’s what happens after that that’ll be hard. Once we’re in there, they’re going to do everything in their power to make sure we don’t come out.”
“Then land it in his cell, pull him inside, then leave.”
“The cell? No, no, the cell’s too small to fit the TARDIS. We need to be outside it. It’s then we have a problem. We have to open his cell without them knowing... there’ll be countless security measures.”
“Well, you have the Sonic, don’t you? Just use that!”
“Yes, that’ll get by the security measures, but that won’t stop them from knowing about it. Once we open the cell, the place will go on lockdown.” He says as he paces around the console. “So all it would do is lock us in as well…”
“What if we ejected the cell from the ship?”
“Well, then the cell would come crashing down to Earth.”
“But wait, what if we ejected the cell, then we got back in the TARDIS, flew it down to the falling cell, open it, and grab him before it hits the ground?”
“…… that would be extremely dangerous and hard to pull off.”
“It’s the only plan we’ve got so far.”
“… Ok, let’s do this.” He said, starting up the TARDIS. “This is gonna be fun.”
“WRRRRR…WRRRRR…WRRRRR…”
Soon, you land inside the Helicarrier. You and the Doctor step out, and into Loki’s cell. You look into the transparent cell, and find him there, sitting on the floor. He looks like he’s been there for a while. While the Doctor runs over to the controls, you lightly tap on the glass. Loki looks up and sees you, and his eyes go wide. You smile a little and wave at him. He does not return the wave, but his face betrays various, conflicting emotions. You swallow as you watch him. You can’t tell if he’s happy to see you or not.
“Ok, on three…” you hear the Doctor say. You don’t look at him, but instead keep your focus on Loki. You put your hand up to the glass, trying to let him know it’ll be alright.
“One…”
He looks at your hand, then back at you.
“Two…”
You give him a reassuring smile.
“THREE!!”
You back away from the glass in time to watch Loki suddenly get sucked down through the ground. The noise of rushing air presses against your eardrums, and you feel yourself being pulled into the open hole.
“COME ON!” The Doctor shouts, running to the TARDIS, which is slowly sliding to the edge of the hole. You try your best to get on your feet and follow, but the wind suction is a very powerful thing. You slip just as you reach within arm’s reach of the TARDIS, and begin to slide closer to the hole. You can’t find anything to grab onto. The Doctor, already inside, reaches an arm out to grab your hand. You reach out as far as you can, and just manage to grab his fingers as you and the TARDIS topple over the edge and into the vast, blue atmosphere.
You hold onto the Doctor’s hand for dear life, your body being flung in different directions as you and the TARDIS freefall down towards Earth. It doesn’t even feel like you’re falling… it just feels like you’re floating. The Doctor pulls you inside, and slams the door behind you. He then rushes to the console as you lay on the floor, catching your breath. He frantically starts trying to steer the TARDIS down to the falling cell.
“Logan, I need you to get on the other side of the console!!” He yells. You ignore your exhaustion and get up, running to the console. He gives you instructions and you follow as quickly as you can. The TARDIS groans in protest, but the Doctor doesn’t let up.
“Hold this!!” He said, nodding to a hand he was keeping pushed down on a lever. You replace his hand on the lever, and he bolts to the doors. He throws one open, and you can see outside the cell, within spitting distance. He take out his Sonic Screwdriver and aims it at the cell, trying to get within reach of the actual door to the cell. You can’t tell if it opened or not, but soon the Doctor is yelling at Loki to jump. A second after, Loki tumbles into the TARDIS, and the Doctor slams the door shut. He runs back to the console and steers it to safety. On a viewport, you see Loki’s cell tumble through the air, crashing on a shoreline, shattering to pieces.
After a while, Loki stands up, looking around. You look back at him, releasing all the buttons you were holding down. You slowly and nervously approach him, and he looks at you. There’s a palpable tension between you two, and you wish it would go away. He just looks at you, his expression once again difficult to tell.
“Um… hi…” you say.
“… It is you…” he mutters. You nod. “… How did you find me?”
“She had help.” The Doctor said. Loki glanced at him, then back at you.
“… You… you came back…”
You nod, smiling. “I did… I wanted to see you…”
You see a hint of a smile on his face.
“I… I am glad. I have been mourning your loss…”
You swallow. “You have…?” He nods. You smile. “I can imagine… it was lonely for you…” He nods again.
“It was… the only one I could call my own was taken…”
You nod, swallowing. “I’m sorry…”
“You are here now…”
You look up at him. He looks back.
“Sorry to interrupt, but Thor, as well as…. Everyone else would like to have a chat.” The Doctor said. You look at him. The Doctor looks back. “They want to hold a council.”
“I thought we were banished?” You reply.
“Well, I guess Thor decided to be a bit more democratic.”
“I have no business with my brother.” Loki says. You look at him.
“We have to make things right. Clear your name, as well as mine.”
“No. They won’t understand. They never will.”
“We’ll MAKE them understand! You deserve to be treated fairly.”
“…” he went and sat down, not saying a word. You follow him.
“Loki… father…” you mutter. He looks at you. “They think you’re the villain. I know you’re not. I know we can stop this war. We can finally be together, as father and daughter. Please…” He sighs. “He still loves you, you know… Thor… he still loves you…”
“… He took you away from me. Besides… he’s not my real brother.”
“But he still loves you. He just wants what’s best for you. He doesn’t want to fight you.”
“…”
“Please…”
“… It will be fruitless. But very well.”
You smile and nod to the Doctor. He nods.
“WRRRRR…WRRRRR….WRRRRR…”
“We’ll show them. I promise.”

You arrive back at Asgard. The Doctor and Loki walk out with you. Loki is visibly nervous. You hold his hand and look at him. He looks back and smiles softly. You return the smile.
You walk with them to the throne. This time, it is not only Thor who is present, but a fair number of officials as well. Many of them keep their focus on Loki. Loki gives them a menacing glare. You squeeze his hand a bit. Thor addresses all who are present, and looks at Loki with a meaningful look. Loki swallows.
“Brother…” Loki addresses in a slight sarcastic tone. Thor sighs, and stands up.
“Brother…” he replies, not sharing the sarcastic tone. “I have sent for you and your daughter, because she now knows the truth… and, thus, we find ourselves in a difficult position.”
“She won’t harm you.” The Doctor says, like he’s been saying it again and again.
“I want to trust that… but for our people, I must remain skeptical. It is my duty.” Thor says solemnly.
“Thor…” you begin to say. “I don’t want to hurt anyone. All I want is to be with my father.”
“He will make you to be like him!” An official calls out. The rest yell their agreement.
“Silence!” Thor demands, and the room goes quiet.
“You’ve taken away enough.” You say. “All because you think I’ll end up being bad. Don’t you think that taking away all this from me will end up making me hate you even more?”
Thor looks at you.
“But I don’t hate you. I know where you’re coming from. I want to make this right. Not just for me, but for you and your brother as well. Loki has always felt outcast and different, and you treating him like that won’t make it any better. I know you love him. And I know he loves you too.”
Loki and Thor look at each other.
“If you could talk about it like adults…” You continue. “Then Asgard could be a better place… you could join forces.”
Loki swallows, looking down at the floor.
“I do not deserve this.” He whispers to you.
“Yes, you do.” You whisper back.
“We shall talk…” Thor proclaims. Loki looks up at him. Thor walks down from his throne and looks him in the eye.
“We shall talk… what say you, brother…?”
“… yes…” he replies meekly. Thor smiles and pulls him into a hug. You and the Doctor smile.
_________________________________________________________________
Soon, you and The Doctor and Loki return to the TARDIS. The Doctor steers the TARDIS back to your home. You step out to face the house you’ve lived in for years. You sigh, and look back at them.
The Doctor steps out. “So… what will you do now?”
“Hmm?”
“The day is saved, family reunited… where are you going to go from here?”
You shrug. “I guess to what I’ve always been doing…”
“That’s awfully boring, isn’t it?”
“Yeah… but I have a life here. I have friends, family, and a boyfriend. I can’t abandon them.”
“Quite right you can’t… quite right…” he says, seeming deep in thought. “Well, anyways. Happy Birthday, Logan.” He smiles and pulls you into a hug. You hug him tightly back.
“Thank you…” You say into his chest. He smiles. You can feel his double heartbeat…
After a while, you pull out of the hug, and see Loki step towards you.
“I wish you could stay with me…” he says. You sigh.
“I know… I do to. But I will come visit you! Like, every day.”
He smiles. “Happy Birthday, my child… and thank you…” He says, hugging you. You hug back.
You hug for a while, then Loki steps back, smiling. He walks back to the TARDIS. The Doctor looks at you.
“How do you think you’re gonna visit him every day?”
“Well… you’re gonna take me, aren’t you?”
“… I dunno…” he said. You suddenly feel a pang of grief.
“… What do you mean? Can’t you?”
“I’ll see.” He says quickly, suddenly heading to the TARDIS and closing the door.
“Wait!!” You call out, before the TARDIS, in a whirl of wind, disappears.
You stand there for what seems like forever… there’s a hole in your heart, and you feel like you’re about to cry… you can’t believe…
“WRRRRR….WRRRRR….WRRRRR…”
You look up quickly, as the TARDIS materializes back where it was. You hear voices in it… you recognize many of them… your college friends, your boyfriend… Elodie, and everyone…!
The door swings open, and you see me standing there, with a party hat on. I look like the girl I’ve always wanted to be. Behind me, you see everyone there, including the Doctor, holding a party just for you.
“Get in, loser!” I call out to you. “We’re going shopping!!! And maybe Dalek hunting. That might also be a thing we’re doing.”
You and me! Lodie or Elogan or whatever!
aww you’re cute <3 also yeah what would our ship name be?? those both sound good…
—-
Elodie twiddled with the bandaid on her finger, wrapping and unwrapping it slowly. She knew Logan would be home in a few minutes and didn’t want to start anything before they went out again. “Hey, how was work?” she said, looking up as she heard the door swing open.

Dear bestfriend,
Dear best friend, (i have 2 so i’ll write 2 short letters)
I miss you a lot now that you’ve gone off to college and i’m grateful i get to see you as much as i do. But you’ve always set the greatest example for me and seeing you be happy and experience life gives me confidence that I can do it too, even though we both struggle sometimes. I’m so happy we’re still as close as we are.
