My phone interview this morning didnāt go well, but it didnāt go to shit. I couldāve done so much better. The part of me that wants to cut myself some slack is telling me it was because it was my first. The rest of my body (i.e. 97% of it) says itās because I didnāt prepare.
Here I am now, awaiting the next two interviews tomorrow. Both will be done with a video call. Both will potentially be worse, but if the first one really for the love of GOD considers me, PLEASE let me know immediately.
The thing about how Iām choosing to think about all this is that there are actually a lot of companies that hire based on productivity in any activity listed in the resume, be it academic, extra-curricular, or just any type of effort-demanding activity. So far, Iāve been proven wrong, as all companies (if they ever reached out to me) would offer something in the lines of testing my ability to code. The first company (bless them) hopefully took some insight from my grades and clarifications about my membership in organizations. Of course, I know I messed that up, but Iāll be more calm about my answers tomorrow. I just need to construct an outline and stop focusing too much about using fill words because Iāll end up using them more. Or leaving the other end with silence. Gosh I really used theĀ āsorry, I didnāt catch you, my signal is weak,ā like twice. Iām so sorry. I hope you donāt see this. If you do, please consider me. I was just super nervous. Iām a very hard worker.Ā
