i had the miraculous thought of: "what if larry's main job is being an interpol officer?" and this is the result. the agent name "173" is goroawase from 人並み (hitonami) which basically means ordinary or being average, particularly of people.

i know that game freak would never flesh him out like this but uhhh this is going to be my hc for a fat while, if just an excuse to draw him with nanu and looker and with a gun

INTERPOL LARRY THOUGHTS

im tentatively naming this au interpolarry so ill be tagging it as such until i find a better name

aside from secrecy and stuff i think larry wouldnt talk much about his work bc he genuinely finds it monotonous

like fieldwork is always adrenaline pumping, but theres a lot more paperwork than youd expect

so he views the whole job as your average desk job, hes just allowed to own a gun.

mostly uses a separate team from his gym/e4 battles, with one exception

persian, ursaring, braviary, pyroar, sawsbuck, and his ace staraptor

(all are at least part normal type and also kinda just look like real animals)

paldea is relatively safe crime-wise so larry doesnt really have to worry about that

area zero on the other hand…

he was stationed in medali when the quaking earth titan escaped into the asado desert

occasionally he does travel to other towns to investigate strange occurances

he usually blends in so well that people do just assume hes some businessman going for a work conference or something

its the perfect cover >:)

for now though, hes been instructed to lay low

geeta managed to wrangle him into a gym leader/e4 position but shes aware that hes an interpol agent

larry doesnt really need the money but he always needs something to do and at least he can practice battling

youd think this would make him more recognizable but outside of medali (and even within) very few people know his name

Interpol Larry is such a good idea and I will be thinking about it for a while but I also wanted to let you know that along with WOAH COOL IDEA brain worms I will have gay brain worms because I will now ship him with Looker. Mostly because I'm a bit gay for both of them but shhhh. Have I thought about how in the hell the relationship works? No! Have I been thinking about like the back to back guns drawn pose?? You bet I have!!!
